Staggeredfir 0 Posted April 23 Hey I could use some help AKATV with 03 Honda Forman 450 screen/meter repair. Thanks in advance
AKATV 824 Posted April 23 Hi, welcome aboard! I sent my contact information to your message box If you can tell us a little bit more about what you have going on exactly I can more effectively troubleshoot how to help repair it Removing the top cover and taking a few pictures, help a lot as well Does your back light come on? Does any of your LEDs work at all? Does the screen look discolored? Possibly have water damage internally? These few things will help narrow it down -AKATV

owjc88 0 Posted April 30 Hi new to this forum. I recently purchased a used 04 Honda rubicon 500 and the owner said the screen was water damaged. The film was bubbled up bad. I opened it and replaced with new polarizing film, noticed 3 capacitors were corroded so bad they crumbled. The display doesn't show anything. The backlight works. The main connector had 1 prong corroded and gone. Do you think this can be fixed? Thxs!
AKATV 824 Posted April 30 The bottom line is if it’s so damaged that parts are literally falling off the board that means the copper traces have dissolved and there’s nothing to attach them to Water damage boards are pretty much end of life and they are nonrepairable unfortunately I can most likely source the correct parts to get you back up and running,!but a repair for water damage of that level, at least by me, is not cost-effective nor reliable long-term -AKATV
owjc88 0 Posted May 1 I was afraid of that, but makes sense. I can run without the display...still would be nice to have. I couldn't find any replacement circuit boards. Is that what you mean by sourcing the correct parts? Or capacitors? Thanks so much for responding back so fast!
AKATV 824 Posted May 1 Yes, you would need a whole replacement circuit card and most likely by the sounds of it, your LCD would need to be refurbished as well. -AKATV
owjc88 0 Posted May 1 Would you be able to price that for me? Thxs!
