2002 TRX450ES

Recommended Posts

Didn't want to hijack anyones post so I am starting my own but some answers may be similar....

I'm the new guy who of course has a cluster problem and I've read enough posts to see the doctor is AKATV. I'm hoping its something else...not that I don't want to send it to the doc.

Here's what I have going on. TRX450ES. Theres no lights on the cluster, no nothing. Key works to start, headlights work and brake lights work. Everything works but the cluster. I just bought this thing so I don't have any history. I checked the fuses to make sure they have good contact and are good. The grounds appear to be good also. Is there a relay I should check or another option?

If this was a cluster issue I'd assume that something would function but maybe that hypothesis is wrong.
I can add pictures if needed. I also made a few posts and introduction but I haven't been able to find them on the forum yet.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
I sent my contact information to your separate direct message you sent me.

The first thing I would do if you have a no power situation to your cluster, and you’ve already checked the fuses isI would check your grey speedometer plug down below to make sure your pins aren’t corroded or burned it’s located behind the front left inner fender and it’s kind of a bear to get to

Also you might want to remove the top cover to the speedometer to make sure you don’t have water damages to your circuit card. Let us know what we can take it from there.

AKATV went above and beyond for me!  What an incredible guy!  PM'd me his information and he helped troubleshoot the problem.  Discovered it was water damaged and needs to be replaced and repaired.  More people need to be like AKATV.  I'm blown away.  Sending my board and screen off to him tomorrow.

Look forward to getting this on the trail and properly working.

Thanks Again!
