after looking back through this thread, man, that frame is pretty bad !. i would have found me a better frame..lol. but i guess up where you are, frames are hard to come by ?.

It looks horrible but is actually really solid besides that front spot. I took the welding hammer to it and couldn't break through anywhere.  Ya, frames are, they all rot out.

This one just popped up on our local market place for $400 , I am not a 350D guy , but I like blue , don't need another atv -------  the rear end is valuable to me as it fits into a 300 , the fenders and plastics might bring in a few bucks , I might could get the rear end for free if I parted out what's left

Keep your eyes open for a donor/parts bike

Go get that! Blue is much rarer in the us. Those plastics could bring you $$$$!!

I have started projects with less there  and in worst condition ------  all it takes is time , money and will ------ I have one buddy that rides Arctic Cat , he has a whole set of them , different sizes ----from what I understand the Arctic Cat and Suzuki were the same bike for years , don't really know the entire history

I'm going to have to get educated.  @jeepwm69said the same thing about cats.  There aren't alot of these things around this area so definitely going to take the time, find the money and fix her up. Like a little tank and so odd looking. Lol  The little elan is on deck for restoration behind the 350, then the basketcase. Hahaha

  4. These things are little tanks and so odd looking I couldn't help myself. Shes a 91 250 LT4WD Suzuki.  And she is a mess. Runs though! 200 bucks and another project in the queue for next winter.  Needs an airbox, brakes, muffler and plastics. Carb rebuild and tune up for sure. Been sitting for 2 years, fired right up.

I have 2 off them throttle assemblies  with the 4x2 switches in them , if anyone else doing this mod ----  what did that throttle cost in Canada

I had a guy want 100 and I got this one for 30 so I guess what someone will pay. The brake I got for 25.  A used atv parts place wanted 50 a piece. Lucked into someone parting out.

So it doesn't have a cage and it would be Overkill for me? Any tricks on not skinning my fingers up removing the filter off of the cage and reinstalling it on the cage?

I'm going by memory and slammedranger sounds like he has a much better memory.  Lol But I believe mine have a frame, not so much cage and the center metal insert from the OEM goes back inside.

I have small hands and don't have a busted knuckle problem.  Lol

  7. Thanks @retro, @TRX Student and @toodeep.

That video was great. Think that will be my plan of attack. If it isn't much worse than I think that should be sufficient. If it is worse I'll go with a plate too. I'm fabing an aluminum skid plate so if I do have to steel plate, I'll make sure they meet nicely.  I have a pipe bender at home so that will definitely help.

I was going to drill a few holes and use threaded inserts to affix the aluminium skid but is that opening myself up to weakening the frame more? Is there a better option for attaching a skid? I want to be able to remove for cleaning from time to time.
