  1. All complete on the 450 424 rebuild. Going to be two more happy people now that they have been brought back to life!! IMG_3138.mov
  2. Another 424 ready for action!!! New cable, bearings, seals & slide springs!!!! Lesson learned! No Amazon bearings! I thought I’d try them for the price. COMPLETE GARBAGE!! Shafts had play like they were beat out! So I had to eat the cost, go get 2 more seals & good bearings! I knew better, but thought I’d try!
  3. Ok, so even though it’s tight I should be good to go? I just wanted confirmation, as Ive never seen this before. (But again, never installed a 250 on a 300 either.) So it’s new to me. Just don’t want to put too much stress on bearings ect.
  4. These are pics I just googled. Found on EBay. Same as mine. If u look at the dots/lines same as mine..that’s the chain I used..
  5. Interesting as it does look different. My dot is to the right, my lip is in the inside. Mine looks the same as one I seen on FB Page & not like urs. Interesting. I’ll do more research before I close it up. I bought it from a local slavage/atv/motorcycle store.
  6. @Fishfiles it’s a BR cam gear. U can tell by the dots. The BR chain was new as well.
  7. So the chain is super tight! I have yet to loctite the gear bolts. The timing mark is on the T, she’s TDC, tensioner in lines look pretty darn good now & cam lobes down…. I’ll rotate the motor few times to make sure she’s still all lined up. I just don’t like how there is ZERO play in the chain AT ALL.
  8. Talk about frustration! I dropped a washer into the case. Had to pull the clutch cover off again, remove centrifugal to retro it! It’s staying off this time until head/cam all done!!!
  9. Rookie move… Rookie move… chain was bound up…cover back on, kick works, shifts fine… lol.
  10. Thinking my clutch discs possibly jammed up. There is no play. I was sure I checked them. I’ve got cover off & shifts & turns over fine now. Gonna really check this out as I want this motor together.
  11. Got the rings/piston/cylinder On. Have to pull clutch cover off as now the kick start & starter shaft won’t rotate or go into any gear…
  12. 300 cable done, 450 cable next.. u can see the difference between my personal one & the rusted one which I will need to clean up..
  13. 2 more full rebuilds almost ready to go….bearings & seals enroute. These two were rough….
  14. Have a 300 & 450 424 cable enroute. Going to replace cables & both internal springs… Cheers!
  15. I may not contribute every month, but try to do lump sums to make up for when I can! LOL!
  16. Just threw $100 into the pot! Cheers!
  17. Picked up the head. Looked great till I got home. They were supposed to tap out the snapped bolt. So it will go back & they apologized. But other than that, looks great! I’m pretty much ready to get er together!
  18. Have 4 cables installed. Had an issue with one where it was kinked crushing inner cable sleeve. Ended in breaking but saved it. Added a hose & will add clamps. Not super happy with the way ends came out. I had too much wind & am going to fix them… but four more 424s about to come alive!!!
  19. For my rims, like I did, I don’t do anything but 80grit scuff & blow with air compressor. Then just spray.. lasts usually 3 years…. I do let it cure for days to weeks before I get out.
  20. Ur ride looks sweet! Very nice! Congrats!
  21. Case is on.. & all bolts torqued. Won’t have time for piston/jug today…
  22. I verified all washers in place, dots lined up, moly assembly lube added where need be… think I’m finally ready to close the ole girl up..
  23. Made headway this am! Clutches installed. Washers facing right way, everything lock tight & torqued to spec. Discs & plates move freely. In good shape!!
  24. Finally took the time to clean up the rims. I usually do this every 3 years. Stands up very well!!!
