  1. Lol thats great news, i dont have a "complete" bottom end. So my parts will all work. I just took it from the shop, go 200sx, and saw that is starting to rust a little. How can i store it better to stop that?
  2. What about the extra bottom end i have. If that is an 86 can i still use it on my 87?
  3. Hmm so i just identifyed one of my spare parts as an 86 fourtrax 350 engine breather box which is going to make me believe all my spair parts are for that year. I just noticed in the service manual my year just has a t junction, not a box. I wonder why? And would the box fit on my foreman? Do you guys think there would be any advantage to the box vs the T? One last thing i sapose the extra bottom end i have is also an 86. Is there aniway to check? And will i be able to use it on my 87 if i need to?
  4. Thanks for the tip. Im going to do a little more research before i start. I got cold aniway. I did download the service manual, thanks for reminding me. I guess i just didnt think my tablet supported pdf so i never tried. So ill read up on that while i warm up. By the way another small part i need if you have it is the exaust pipe heat shield. I know i can find them online pretty easy but as long as your getting a box ready to send me we'll fill it up.
  5. Got the airbox out and now im about to take off the rocker box
  6. O its happening. Had to help with the farrier all morinig so im just getting started now. Got the top rack off in the front and decided to peel off what remained of that big sticker. Once that was off i realized now there is one clean and shiny spot. Thats no good so i used some rubbing compound and cleaned it all up
  7. Started tear down #2. Im going to rebuild the top end, Pull the gas tank and try to fix the sending unit. Im taking my time and cleaning it up as i tear it down. Pictures soon. Im going to work on it all day today and let you guys know where im at. Its hard for me to park it again after how much work I've already put in. But i know i can get it working even better and i can drive the 200sx. Lol it was a weird change going from driving the foreman everyday to the little 200. I forgot how fun that bike is.. and fast!
  8. Awesome. I forgot to ask if you had an extra set of rear break cable parts (spring, wingnut, and that little round thing). And i definitely will take the shift lever.
  9. Nice thats what im thinking is wrong after a little research. Im still going to probe around a little before i pull the tank. Thankfully the tank is very clean from what i can tell so hopefully i can get it functional. Ps is there a way to test the fuel gauge as well?
  10. First ill get my spair bottem end and practice on that a little. All i sould need is a shift lever and the seal. I have the shaft and transmission ex..
  11. Brand New battery. I thought of the gas and did fill it. No change. Just a barely visable flicker on the one light way left. Im thinking sending unit.
  12. Ok got it. Im going to be posting a lot soon. this is just the start. Its going to be a big tear down. I might end up pulling the whole engine idk. Gotta rebuild top end, gotta take apart the stator side case to fix a broken bolt in the block, and i should probably check my clutch. Lol guess what? That darn welded shifter is going to get me again. To bad its not just tac welded.. they drilled a hole through the shifting rod and welded a pin in it. Im pretty sure im going to need to cut it off
  13. Just a quick question about the fuel gauge and sending unit. Fuel gauge reads empty and pretty dim. I guessing it has somthing to do with the sending unit in the gas tank but before i rip everithing apart i thought you guys might have some trouble shooting advice.
  14. Thats a good way to do it. My dads an old school auto mechanic and taught me everything i know. But speeking of bolts.. i did start taking it apart again. Left the starter alone so far because i found out someone broke a long bolt, middle top, and put it back in lol. But... that means that bolt is broke off in the block. : ( tthat means i gotta pull the whole stater off correct? ?
  15. Thats what i was thinking, i haven't seen any others like it. I wonder how rare mine is.. too bad its all beat and broken. If the weather stays nice i think im going take of the front plastics and the air box to get at that head. My dad said i should check the brushes on the starter so i guess ill pull that and i should probably check the clutch too. I did find what i think is a friction pad for the clutch in my wonder box off spare parts.
  16. Nice! next week when i get the fuel gauge im going to take apart most of the front plastics aniway so ill pull the airbox and replace that o ring as well. PS. Build update.. totally rebuilt the rear breaks with new shoes. Had trouble with the break cable i ordered. Working condition my !. But it had the wingnut, spring, and dowl i needed to hook up my foot break.. after i got it loosened up with a little encouragement from mr. Torch.. my dad screwed around with the disfunctional cable, way more than i would have, and did get it working but its still sticky. And not to mention now lacks the parts to mount it lol but i made it work for now but i thought i would throw that out there that i would like to get that done better. O and what do you call the hollow screw the break cable sets in on the hand break so i can get one ordered
  17. Ps on the bumper im not refering to the crudly welded ring on the middle bar im talking about the arch on the bottom bar.
  18. No hurry on the carb cover. Just let me know whenever snow melts and you can get it. And the engine is leaking from like three . . decompression shaft oil seal, the seam between the head and rocker box and one of the tappet covers. I do have a spair cover with a o ring still on it. Can i get that cover off with out dismantling to much?
  19. Ive been driving it everyday for the last few weeks. Multipal tanks of gas. The only thing is it leaks a little oil from the head gaskets and one of the valve covers. An unnoticeable amount as far as the oil level but it smokes a bit when it drips on the headers. Very unpleasant to me but im afraid i would end up with more problems once i take it appart. There is i crack on the rocker box, no oil comes out of the crack but i dont think i will be able to tighten the bolt to make a proper seal. And the head itsself i found out someone cross threaded the sparkplug in. I dont ever want to take that out again in fear the threads will only get worse. For now it runs and drives good so im just trying to keep it that way. I need to bomb proof this tank so the horses dont destroy it as soon as i turn my back. Random side note. Whats up with my bumper? The bottom ark is not on other ones but it looks factory.
  20. The lid and tube will be fine. I just ordered the airbox body cover so i wont even see it. and since i just got a new pump i figured i better get a fuel gauge so i went ahead and ordered one. I feel like i lucked out on the fuel gauge cuz it was mislabled as a battery power meter and it was only 40 bucks and in great shape. The only other one i saw online was 100 and in tough shape. Build update.. i was able to get the baffler out of the exaust pipe, (after a little chat with the angle grinder) and wraped it, packed it, and bolted it back in. Now it not only starts and runs good but it sounds good too. Also i started cutting up a red plastic tub to start shaping some fenders. The color is a decent match. Lol i have a scrap peace that inspired me to make panels as well. The reason im building/repairing the fenders is because i am missing every plastic part in the rear. and I dont have the mounting brackets for the gaurds. I have taillights and fender flairs, thats about it. Wouldnt be a problem but i need to be prepared for a major top end rebuild. That could get really spendy fast.
  21. Im about maxed out on spending for parts. Ill silicone the holes on the airbox lid. And the pvc is very solid. But the last few things i want is that carb cover you have and those floorboards superman posted that replace the main skidplate, im missing that plate aniway. I also hope that if the floorboards work i can maby make some rear fenders that mount on the floorboards and attach to the rear rack
