  1. Im so glad shade invited me to this fourm. It sure has helped getting advice from people that know what there doing.
  2. Update. Finally got the new oem fuel pump. After a bit of trouble i got a airbox lid. Its full of screw holes but otherwise good. How do you guys like the pvc off the carb? Lol. 2" elbows fit perfectly on the existing screen grommet on the carb. And also im restoring an old rusty tool box and attached two bungies. Got it all sanded down ready to paint. Kinda cool it easily goes on the front or rear rack along with the rack on my 200sx
  3. Im glad i asked you guys first. That was the easiest fix ive done yet. Shifting feels great now!
  4. The clutch dosnt seem to engage as much as it should. Im wondering if i can get it working better by decreasing the play. Im assuming that i need to loosen the nut then adjust the bolt. But any pointers as to how much i should adjust at a time, if i should increase or decrease play, or if this has nothing to do with the clutch and i need to stop, please let me know
  5. Is that with or without shipping? You dont live in Minnesota by chance, then i could maby just pick it up
  6. So i was reading the original add for grandmas ol 200sx and it said that it came out with optional cargo racks and optional hitch. I would like to put a hitch on but i am having difficulty. Anybody have experience with this bike? Im thinking maby there are different axle housings with mounting for a hitch but im not sure. Ps dont make fun of my bolt with like ten washers, lost the bolt and thats all i had
  7. How do you mount the floorboards and how much do you want for them? I was planning on building something like that. it looks like the one you have replaces the main skidplate, and if so, that would be a two for one for me.
  8. Cool! thanks! I get some right away
  9. I feel like i rember reading somewhere that honda had to change something to meet usa emissions standards. Maby i have a japan modle muffler
  10. Lol i couldnt even find a pic online if my style online so i steped out and took a pic myself
  11. This is the stock exaust. Im looking for a pic of mine
  12. I took off my exaust pipe, lol both ends, and got it very nicly brazed together. I was surprised to see how great of condition the baffler was in, i was kinda expecting it to be rusted out. Got it all back together and it sounds great. But it is kinda loud still especially considering the baffler is still intact. So my question is this. Mine is basically a straight pipe off the headers, now i have seen this style online for sale, but more often ive seen a different one. And also on the parts diagrams it shows this other style. Did this bike come out with two different stock mufflers, or is mine an "upgraded" option? Which one is quieter?
  13. Thanks. I gotta be careful ordering parts, it dosnt take long for it to add up
  14. Never mind i figured it out finally. I just need the main plate. I was confused buy the listings for the gas tank gaurd. Now how do i delete a post
  15. So i was out playing in the snow and eventually found a pretty deep area and got good and buried. Thats when i realized im missing a skidplate. So i looked online and found the main engine plate i need but i also saw another one that appears to bolt on the front swingarm and pivet on the frame. I couldnt find that skidplate on any of the diagrams to try and confirm the part for my bike
  16. That would be great. I just looked at the link fishfiles posted and it said unavailable
  17. As far as ive seen (from carbs online) its a black plastic rectangle cover
  18. Im having trouble finding the cover for the throttle on the carb. It works fine without it but i know its not good to leave it exposed like that. If anybody has one or has seen one online please let me know
  19. Just got a new battery and wired the starter back up. Between that and a rebuilt choke it sure starts nice, even in this sub zero temp.
  20. I do enjoy it very much. There were times of problem solving frustration that pushed me to the brink but that only makes it more rewarding. One of the biggest issues was the front swingarm berings were out which should have been an easy fix but some one welded the shifter on so i couldnt get at the middle shaft. The things people do for a quick fix, OMG why? Luckly the kid gave me an extra bottem end and there was also an extra shaft gaurd so needless to say i used a dremmel and wrecked the existing gaurd a little so i could pull the shaft out and drop the swingarm. This summer ill pull the shifting rod out of the spare engine and put my foreman back together right. Aniway nothing felt better than when i put it all back together with new shocks and it was solid as a rock!
  21. Instead of only pestering you guys every time I need help, I thought it would be fun to share some of the accomplishments. Last summer i revived my late grandmas 87 200sx. I had a lot of fun tinkering for a large part of the summer and learned a bit about finding parts online. Near the end of summer my dad really wanted me to go ahead and order all new plastics because i had the old girl running and driving so good. Yikes was that going to be expensive. Meanwhile our polaris 6x6 ,which is used every day on the farm to feed hay, was on the fritz. So i thought maby instead of spending upwards of 700 dollars to mount new plastics on the 200 i would look for another atv to do some of the heavy work to give the 6x6 a break. I never would have thought how hard it can be to get a good deal on a atv Craigslist. I looked and looked, refresh after refresh. Every time i found something that looked nice and in my budget i was to late, it had been sold. It wasnt untill i saw a hate add for atv flippers sharing the same frustration i was feeling, that i realized i was a guppy in a shark tank and i had to go after the leftovers. Then i saw it, 87 foreman, 650 bucks, add was already two weeks old and some high school kid selling for college. Wow did it look rough in the photos, even worse in person, but i did my research and more research and the more i researched the more i wanted it. So i called the kid and told him there was no way i would pay him 650 but i would be fair after i look it over in person. I wish i still had the original add photos just for a laugh but aniway took it home for 380 bucks plus he gave me a tube full of parts including an extra complete bottom end engine/transmission. After no small amounts of wrench time, elbow greace, and help from people online i got a fully functional workhorse while still under my 700 dollar budget, lol not for long when i bite it and buy that new fuel pump.
