  1. Just a little fogged over!!!! Lol!!!
  2. Thanks. It is pretty tough these days. Been doing it a while and this has been the worse last few years in my whole career. But we will get through it. Thank you though.
  3. It wasn’t my wreck. I was the cop working it.
  4. Hey, I just took a look down inside the engine from the piston side and it looks new. Well oiled. The top end was off when I bought it but it was well covered when I first saw it. There is not any up and down play in the arm thing that hold the piston nor does the piston have any play where it is connected to that arm thing. The arm turns in one direction abut I didn’t like about putting it in neutral and try going both ways. I don’t know if it works that way but I’ll try it later if it does. That arm did turn very smoothly though. When it was all together I did try the gears and it was going into every gear. The piston and cylinder wall does have scoring. Not real bad but it does have surface rust. I figure from weather change and being off of the engine. I will be order a whole new top end kit that includes the cylinder so I won’t have to worry about boring it out and matching a new piston. So wish me luck!!!
  5. Well, sorry to break it to you, but im not a trucker. It is a picture from work, I just don’t drive them. It was involved in a crash and I take pictures of all the vehicles involved in case I need it later for the report. I don’t know how I picked this picture. There is a huge difference between a four wheeler and a 18 wheeler.
  6. Lol, it’s ok. It happens to the best of us every blue moon or so!
  7. No, it’s a FM. It has ES plastics. It does not have a electric shift. It has the foot pedal to change gears and there is no shift button on the handle bars. I downloaded the manual the other day. I’m just trying to figure out if the bottom end is good before I start ordering parts to get it back together.
  8. It’s a FM with ES plastics. I checked the VIN. Thanks though.
  9. The plastics are not original. I checked the vin and it shows a 450 FM.
  10. Excuse the picture of the truck!!! I can’t figure out how to erase it.
  11. It came like this but without the top end on it. The carb looks like it may need some cleaning too. It was rode very hard and put away super wet. I discovered sand/dirt in every crook and crevice of this thing. The rear diff didn’t have any oil but isn’t rusted up. The rear brakes didn’t have any movement. They were disconnected and completely frozen up. They didn’t work at all but were not engaged. None of the cables work, those were frozen too. All the boots need replaced and all the rear end bearings had a little play in them. To I started by tearing it down and cleaning up the frame. I knocked off all the surface rust and applied a rust resistant primer and a fresh coat of paint. Now I need to order the bearing and start getting to a rolling chassis.
  12. Ok, I lied! Not really, but I thought the chips were smaller. I had to bang the crap out of it to get that pin thing out and when I flipped it over, I found these chips.
  13. Great, I contacted AKATV to see if he could do something with my old one. Just waiting for a response. Thanks guys
  14. I was told last night it means “in my opinion”. That’s the first on that one. But anyway, I understand what you mean. I began asking questions before I introduced myself. A little ! backwards but it’s too late for that. I don’t have many pictures but then again I just started the project. I have some of what it looked like before I started and right now it’s just the frame. Ill take some as I progress on the rebuild. But thanks for the advice. This place has been pretty darn cool so far.
  15. Ok, yesterday I was dissembling the rear breaks because they were completely frozen and need new parts. I was trying to take the brakes pads and cam rod out and slightly chip the little lip that holds the large o-ring on the inside of that brake panel. They were all small chips in maybe 4 or 5 different places. I would say the chips are about 1/8 of a inch or smaller. Would that affect the piece or does it need to be replaced?
  16. I have it, but when taking it apart to rebuild the whole quad, I noticed it had severe water damage and does not look salvageable. Will the quad still start without it.
  17. Thanks, I was referred here by AKATV. He said it was better than the other one I was on. New to this, so I hope it helps.
  18. Hello everyone! I’m Daniel from Refugio, Texas but living in Huntsville, Tx. I recently purchased a 2003 Honda Foreman TRX 450 FM for $150.00. The guy I purchased it from stated all it needed was a top end. It was in decent shape. Plastics aren’t in the best of shape but everything underneath looked pretty good. This will be my first build so I’ll be asking a lot of questions and maybe looking for super good deals on parts. If there is anyone out there that could offer help, it would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Looking for a speedometer for a 2003 Honda Foreman TRX 450 FM. I found a few on eBay but I feel $200+ is way too much for this part. My wife would cut me! If anyone has way for a great great price, I would really appreciate it.
  20. Hello, I recently purchased a 2003 foreman 450. I got it for $150.00 because the guy was tired of looking at it and didn’t want to mess with it. The top end was off because he said the piston and cylinder had damage. I took a look at it and they both have obvious scaring. My question is, How do I know if the bottom end is good. I messed it with a bit and I can rotate the piston in one direction and I switch the gears and it seems to hit every gear. Now I stripped it down to the frame. Next week I start ordering parts to get it back together. But I would hate to do all that work if I’m missing something with the bottom end. This is my very first build so I just want to make sure it goes back together the right way. Does anyone have any advice? TYIA.
