Well; i'm going to post this here 1st., before anywhere else. i finally got the words i need to ask this. i'm not looking for an e-mail client, but an e-mail server i think. i've had att.net mail, but they joined with yahoo, an are fairly much worthless to me, plus i got linux, and maybe its a useless task to find a decent mail server. at least i have to try though. so, i putting this forward for now, and see if i can get any replies..

Piece of cake Led! You'll need to purchase a domain name and a domain mail provider, which is the easiest way to provide private mail for yourself. Alternatively you could buy a domain name and rent a server and run your own email server -- but that is a lot more work and the big three, google, yahoo and microsoft will try to blacklist your mail server IPs constantly, in an effort to force you onto one of their platforms so they can steal/datamine your personal communications.

I recommend that you buy a domain name from Namecheap (cheap and they're a top-level dealer, not a reseller) and buy a domain email account from Mxroute

I can help you set those up by PM or email, or phone if you wish. Your cost would amount to about $35-$40 per year for both a domain and unlimited email accounts (POP3, SMTP and/or webmail options), which is a small price to pay for do-it-yourself privacy nowadays.

I use GIMP which is open source, cross platform and free. It is an image editor similar to Photoshop. Most Linux distros include GIMP in the software manager/installer so with a couple clicks it should be ready to use on your desktop.

To use GIMP to resize an open image, rightclick on the image and select from the popup context menu: Image>>Scale Image. Then either adjust the pixel sizes or select Percent (%) from the dropdown and type in your desired size reduction in the Width textbox. Once satisfied depress the Scale button.

You are now ready to save your resized image, but there are a couple things to keep in mind when it comes to best choice of file format. Firstly, JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) image files can store a lot of extra information with each image such as the camera or device, the date and time, the exposure and shutter specs, GPS location, etc. So if you don't feel like sharing those sort of details with the surveillance state industry is in your best interests, then JPEGs are always a bad choice. Strike one! Secondly, saving a file in JPEG format generally means that you are going to lose image quality due to JPEGs inherent lossy compression issues. Strike two! Thirdly, JPEG file format is not open source. Strike Three!

Fortunately there is a far superior open source image format known as PNG, that I use for all of the images that I upload here. When you convert a JPEG to PNG all of the text details that the surveillance industry hopes you'll share get stripped out. PNG files have lossless compression options too, so image quality remains as good as the original when you export to PNG.

So once you are satisfied with your image editing, right click and choose from the context menu: File>>Export As...

Choose the folder you wish to write your new image file, type your desired file name in the text box and make sure that your new file name ends with .png

When you click the button to save a popup file options dialog will open:

Clear the checkboxes of any details you don't need to include and punch the Export button. Done!

GIMP runs on almost every platform including WinDOS, MacOS etc.

MxRoute is the best private domain mail provider. Just costly, but privacy ain't free nowadays.
