Shrekatv 0 Posted September 21 Hey guys I have a 2006 Honda rancher es and I put a new shift motor on and now you can hear the shift motor trying to shift or spin but it’s not doing anything… any idea what it could be?
jeepwm69 7,783 Posted September 22 @retro is the ES master. He has a good thread on prepping an ES system. First thing I would do is see if it shifts with the emergency shifter to make sure you don't have a mechanical issue
LedFTed 1,145 Posted September 22 i might think of taking out the shifter motor and see how the grease looks. it could be so thick, its stopping the gear from turning. it cant hurt to look at the grease anyway. factory grease on many es models is not the good stuff. retro 4,074 Posted September 23 As Jeep advised, if you can shift through every gear manually with the emergency shift tool or a 12mm wrench while rocking your Rancher forward and backward, then the issue can probably be fixed by following this guide entirely: Let us know how it goes.
