MargeShrimpson 6 Posted August 16, 2020 The hydraulic brake lever just kinda sunk on me. One day it was working fine and literally the next day it stopped working. There is no fluid on the floor and the reservoir is full. What went wrong?
shadetree 6,036 Posted August 16, 2020 air in the line ?, master cylinder piston bad ?. calipers seized ?. any one of these problems. i would start by bleeding the brakes before you start tearing into it !.
Fishfiles 20,148 Posted August 16, 2020 Pinch the hose coming out the master with hose pinch pliers or a pair of vise grips and a piece of rubber or card board to not damage the hose. Pump against the blockage. If the lever gets hard in one or two pumps then the master is good and you got air in the lines or out of adjustment or brakes worn out or wheel cylinders stuck

MargeShrimpson 6 Posted August 16, 2020 Wow, thanks for the quick replies. I will try to pinch the line later this week and see whats up. I have never had a problem with hydraulic brakes and figured since it was a closed system it was something that I didn't have to worry much about.
