  1. Glad you found this site Duitsky, there are many 450 Hondas around here so lots of help.  They are one of the best ATV's Honda made along with the 300's and 350's.  And yes @AKATV is the guy to get your display looking like new.  We have a chat function that normally has some discussion going most evenings, stop by if you like.  Access it from the top menu....

  2. You will be glad to know there are tons of 450 owners around here.  You do have the 2nd generation 450 with choice of 2wd/4wd.  Being a 450ES owner myself and seeing as tho yours has been sitting awhile I would suggest taking a look at the following thread. There are many with ES issues that could be solved by taking advantage of the tips @retro has laid out so well.  Yes he also has an ES Honda.  Good luck and have fun......

i run reg gas in all my toys and truck. if i know its gonna sit for awhile ?, i put stabil in the tank ?, or drain the carb. it all depends on how much you use what ever gas is in it. i don't buy into ethanol or non-ethanol, is there a difference ?, prob ?..but i don't care one way or the other..as long as i run what i put it in ?, or treat the gas that its in ?, i've never had any issues to this date.

Same here, I have never used non ethanol in anything and never had issues.  Mind you I have a 35 year old Stihl chainsaw and a 32 year old Echo string trimmer and still going strong.  Also lawn mowers and other small engine toys.  As with shade when these engines are gonna sit for awhile I add some Stabil and run them for a few minutes.  I'm certainly not saying non ethanol is bad but either I have been lucky for many years or it doesn't matter much.

  5. DC voltage meter leads directly on the battery terminals.  make sure you are measuring DC not AC voltage.  With the engine running it should be reading above 12 VDC.  With the engine at higher RPM's it should be reading around 14-14.5 VDC....

  6. Welcome jblack, you have a very good machine, there are a bunch of 450 owners here so there will be lots of advice if you have any issues.  I doubt you will get any problem that someone here hasn't had or seen.  We do have a chat function also, access it from the top menu.  Generally there will be some action there evenings, check it out....

  7. Wheeler I feel for you, I have had many cats/dogs put down over the course of years by our vets.  Not once did I ever send them in alone, I always was there with them to let them know they were loved until the end.  And trust me it never gets easier.....
