  1. Welcome to the forum

Definitely some sun damage, a lot of time humidity will cause those to oxidize like that, depending on area of the country you are incircuit

About 75% of the circuit boards I see have some level of oxidation to the screws even if they working ok

Does the card power up at all? LEDS all function etc?  I will need a few more details about what all you have going on with it

I have sent my direct contact information to your message box as well

  2. Shade/sdec40

That speedometer is definately for an 98-01 450S

The LCD screen is the same for the 98-04 450S models even thru the addition the the extra LED for the 4x4, the circuit cards are different, but the displays will swap over

The black looking ink type spots are a known issue, more particular to the 450S model screen for some reason

It is not repairable and the LCD must be replaced

sdec40 said he thought he was able to repair his black spot before it cracked, I have not seen, or been able to replicate any successful long term repair of this kind of damage.

  3. Hi, welcome to the forum
Do you still have the old speedometer?

If you do, then, the data should still be present on the chip unless it’s corrupted and I can swap things over for you to put original mileage back on the wheeler

I’ll send my contact information to your message box

  4. Hi, welcome to the forum!

I would probably need to see a few pictures of what you actually have going on.

I will send my contact information to your message box if you’d like to contact me as well

  5. Hi, welcome to the forum.

I will get in touch with you in regards to your speedometer

I highly advise you to edit this and remove your phone number on an open forum on the Internet

it just opens you up and makes you subject to all kinds of late night spam and weird calls, etc.

  6. Welcome to the forum!
The first thing that I would do is to pull that top cover off and see if you have any water damage underneath on the circuit board

I see some polarization film UV damages on the top film as well as the rear, but the way its faded leads me to think that you might have some water damage in there possibly, let me know what you find out

I will send my contact information if you’d like to look into a repair as well

This display monitor is no longer available. How do I get in touch with AKATV to send off for repair.

Or to purchase a refurbished one.  Honda parts#37200-HN7-731

    Thank you

    Welcome to the forum!

What is wrong or going on with your old one?

Send a few pics with details as Jeep said above

I will send my contact information to your message box as well

  9. The bottom line is if it’s so damaged that parts are literally falling off the board that means the copper traces have dissolved and there’s nothing to attach them to
Water damage boards are pretty much end of life and they are nonrepairable unfortunately

I can most likely source the correct parts to get you back up and running,!but a repair for water damage of that level, at least by me, is not cost-effective nor reliable long-term

  10. Thanks for the kind words, glad to help

The repair costs really depend on what issues you are having and the availability of the replacement parts

I have repairs ranging from polarization film and backlight filter replacement for Sun damage to circuit card assembly replacement due to water damage, and/or whole assembly replacement, individual circuit component replacement and reprogramming

A few pictures inside and out and a brief description really helps out in the beginning.

I seem to be getting a lot of speedometer circuit cards lately that are heavily water damaged and not repairable, so they must be replaced as well

It really helps initially to remove the top cover and see if you’ve got water damage inside on the circuit card

99% of the time the backlight and LED will still work with an extremely water damaged non-repairable circuit card, which leads to the owner thinking that the speedometer is operational and it’s just a Sun damaged LCD display issue

  12. Hi, welcome aboard!
I sent my contact information to your message box

If you can tell us a little bit more about what you have going on exactly I can more effectively troubleshoot how to help repair it

Removing the top cover and taking a few pictures, help a lot as well

Does your back light come on?

Does any of your LEDs work at all?

    Does the screen look discolored?

    Possibly have water damage internally?

These few things will help narrow it down

  13. Glad to see you made it over here, welcome to the forum!

Seeing how these will run without a meter even plugged up to the machine, the mystery deepens

If this was a Honda dealership and they broke your meter plug because they did not know how to get it apart,

that alone speaks volumes about their service and technical proficiency.

I would be hitting them up for the cost of a replacement plug and or meter or see what they are willing to do

I can repair it for you anyways, but it wont impede function the way it is, you just need need to keep it waterproof for now

As far as you ATV issues at this point  we need to confirm, that you have spark, fuel, and compression

Other members will be along to help soon as well
