  1. It's a nice store but not as big as you might think. It's a city block long and probably 60ft wide but they carry a big inventory and do alot of online sales. You are gonna love that gun.

Just curious, what are my brothers south of the border pay for .22 ammo, say a 100 pack of CCI mini mags? I don’t remember exactly, but it’s around 12 dollars at the local Canadian Tire. A box of Federal Power Shok .30-06 is 25.99, which is actually come down in the last couple years. It was over 30 a box a couple years ago.

Dredd, I buy mine in the 550 packs of Federal 36gr JHP. Great ammo. If it's over $25 for the box I won't buy it. I try to stay a couple thousand rounds ahead to avoid the current situation.

PROV , is that a de-humidifier tube in the bottom of your safe ?? If so how's that working out ? I am about to put a gun safe de-humidifier  in my TV cabinet that is outside ....

No, it's a tube of very old maps. My son has a Goldenrod in his that works good. Just be careful he said, the unit itself is very warm.

I got a S+W MP-15-22 in transit , all the way from the top of Minnesota -------   if anyone else wants one right now , act fast  , there are 2 left and they are rare as elephant crap in a canary cage right now .....  all the local dealers in 100 miles of me couldn't even order one for me

Fish, what dealer or town did you get it from, I've probably been there. I love mine. I've been looking and waiting for a Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag. Drove about 300 mile round trip today to Scheels in St Cloud, Mn. Last one they had and price was right.

I wouldn't mind having one of these ^^^ , I got to shot son in law's last weekend , .22 bullets are cheap , the gun  was  $500 in basic form  , bet they are more now days

I have the M&P 15-22 Sport. It has a round barrel shroud with full pic rail on top - easier on the hand. Comes with Magpul MBus flip up battle sights. I added a Vortex Crossfire red dot which co-wittnesses with the battle sights. Extremely accurate and funner then all get out. Paid $435 for it new and $120 for the red dot.

  6. I wonder if Trudeau got beat half to death with a brick if you would have to get a special permit to build with them. Anybody that owned a brick that was not mortared to a structure would be a felon.

  7. @Wheeler, loop holes aside, if I could only own a gun to take to the range it wouldn't be worth it. I understand it's not necessarily that bad to bring a hunting gun but I quit hunting there when they started all the BS paperwork. Before we could just pull up to Customs, tell or show them our guns and how much ammo and we were on our way. When I am up there fishing I am not too fond of hiking or picking berries back in the bush where you might encounter some belligerent bears etc.

  8. I love going to Canada and have some friends there. However, your firearms laws have discouraged me from hunting there and I would certainly never live there based on that alone. I realize this comes primarily from your city liberals. Surprised they haven't outlawed bats, knives, pipe, chains etc.

  9. I carry an M&P Shield mostly, a Beretta 92 sometimes and a Ruger GP100(.357) in the woods. Have a Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 mag on order. Our outdoor range has a pistol range and a rifle range out to 300yds, someday will be 1000yds. I go regularly. Yearly dues are $30, senior rate over 60 is $18. Bargain. We also have an indoor clubhouse/range.

  10. Happy Father's Day guys. My 37 year old son and I went to the hunting shack Friday morning until this afternoon. Lucked out with cooler weather and bugs not bad at all except ticks. We walked right into a herd of them below a beaver dam. Every blade of grass had 1 to 4 ticks on them. Never saw a spot that bad. Saw a couple hen ruffed grouse with their babies, deer, great horned owl etc. Got game cam pics of moose and a timber wolf in front of my shack. Put 93 miles on son's new Pioneer 1000 on Saturday. Lot's of exploring and did some shooting today before packing out.

  11. LedFted, there is a temp sensor on the evaporator coil in the freezer section. A timer starts your defrost for a predetermined time. But usually the coils are deiced before then, the sensor opens stopping the heater and freezer will restart when timed out. So I'm guessing you have a bad defrost sensor.

  12. As to dust - some people claim it comes from the furnace and these adds for portable electric heaters saying your furnace makes dust/soot are pure bunk. If you had a cracked heat exchanger than soot and carbon monoxide can get out in which case it has to be shut down and immediately condemned and replaced. Any dust you see is simply house dust. Hot water or steam systems attact it to the radiators because of convective heat flow. It gets on your furnace filter from air flow. The furnace filter is only designed to protect your blower motor from the dust. These new high efficiency air filters that they advertise as getting rid of dust can plug up very fast. This puts more strain on the blower motor and doesn't move air efficiently off the heat exchanger causing welds and joints to crack prematurely.

  13. I have a hot water boiler. I don't know anybody in the area who runs a steam boiler anymore except up the Iron Range. If your pressure is correct and you have purged the air it is silent except the sound of the gas burners.

  14. Finally took it apart today. Pins on bulb rusted off to connector!! I don't know how the heck moisture could get in there. Had to us a drill and small bit to get the prongs out. Got a new bulb, applied dielectric grease, plugged in and put liquid electric tape where it would positively seal. Works fine now. Can't understand how it rusted. Never been swamped and in the garage when not being used.

idk how the meat breaks down. i just cut the deer meat off, an froze it., wrapped it in freezer paper. plus some other stuff. this freezer dont defrost, like the modern ones. i like it. you cant get one like this. right now, it has an inch of ice built up on the inside in some spots., maybe more. the modern freezer in the upstairs refrigerator, melts new ice cream, then refreezes it. it aint right. if it does it to ice cream, then anything ya got in there, goes through the same cycle. warms up, then refreezes.

the guy that i got this from, thought he snookered me, the basement freezer. he got a modern freezer, though smaller. i would do this deal again, in a heartbeat.

the reason you let beef hang [from what i understand], is it dont have the proper enzymes. while deer is ready to eat the day that you get it. i might be wrong, but have et much wild game, an it always taste better, then what you can buy, and have et it on the same day, i killed it.

if you like Melrose, on Melrose ave. in Louisville to take care of your meat, i got some bacon from there, that smelled like two day road kill. in a store once, an it has been always the same since. they lost their way, from, the bacon making people, till 30 years later, when they sell the road kill brand.

was a time i liked this bacon, bout 30 yrs., maybe 40 years ago., or somewhere in between.

You are correct, it is the enzymes in the meat and it ages way faster in venison than beef. That being said those enzymes can still break it down when frozen albeit much more slowly. Especially if there is no air present. If the meat is vacuum sealed or sealed in some other way it doesn't matter if your freezer is frost free or old style. Also some types of plastic wrap are not truly airtight and have micro pores that will let air through. That's why you see regular plastic bags and the same thing in freezer bags. Even plastic water pipes in your house will let air in but not leak. The pipe used for heating purposes is cross-linked so air cannot get in.
