What’s your method to clean out brake lines? Dang things are pricey and the older bikes’ lines seem to be clogged as often as not

Marlin has gone downhill, along with Remington after Cerberus ran them into the ground. Love the older JM marked Marlins!

Looks like the 185s is an 81, and the 125 is an 85-86, according to some of the Hoarders on bookface. They can tell the year by looking at the stickers, lol

 I think I have a bunch of pre war guns like these, just a few I have pic's handy

 last few yrs I think I sold about 50+ or so, all before the 1940 age mark

Winchester peaked in the late 50’s. Their 22’s (52, 61, 62, 63, 69, 72) from that era are unmatched.

Remington 5-teens are nice too. So are the 12 and 121 pumps

Marlin 39A is the nicest lever RF, IMHO.

Anything made in the mid- 20th century beats the rough plastic and cheap designs of today.

Supposedly Yamaha makes good stuff! It’s not like it’s a Polaris or something. Price was right (FREE)!

The 98 I bought with no spark had that adapter thingy with a new CDI the guy had just had installed from Honda a month or two before I bought the bike. 

They replaced the CDI and it ran, but they didn’t catch the bad voltage regulator so it quickly fried the new CDI.

I put a used regulator from PSN on there and a 350 Rancher CDI and it fired right up and ran like a top. 

The 350 CDI attaches directly to the factory plug without that funky looking harness. You’ll have the fan wires hanging off the CDI that aren’t used, but the 98-00 300’s will definitely take a 350 Rancher CDI

Basfnb showed up with these on a trailer over the weekend. 125 I bought a couple of years ago and it’s been sitting in basfnb’s shop. Top end is off and I’m even sure if it’s all there. Was $50 though, so hopefully I can fix it up over time for new baby to ride when she’s older. 

Brakes look weird on this thing. They all like the rears are on the bigger bike (cable actuating a cam)? Any idea what year it is (couldn’t find the VIN)?

185S has already been here once. He didn’t want to put money in it. Ran but smoked like a freight train. 

Front tire needs a tube. No brakes at all. Wouldn’t start for me but plug is probably fouled out. Anyone tell what year it is from looking?

Picked up this KLF80 Raptor from Basfnb’s brother, along with an old 185S Honda over the weekend. 

Turns over great, doesn’t even try to start though. Haven’t really had time to even look at it to figure out where the battery and airbox are. 

Could be a good one to keep around for the kids. Anyone have any experience with these things?

Almost all of mine were lost in a tragic boating accident. Very unfortunate. 

Before that I did a little smallbore shooting, and Dad did a lot of pistol shooting when he was in the Army.

If compression is off you'll have to pull the top end, and at a minimum hone the cylinder and put new rings on the piston.

I've done the whole "hook a rope/winch cable to it and it will fall the way I want"  I've luckily never had one fall on a house or on me, but it only took one time to learn that that rope or cable isn't going to steer that tree the tiniest little bit.  It's going down and that rope/cable isn't going to change it one bit.

Viper Max worked well for me too.  The Viper Classic I bought didn't last long at all.  Warn is the best but I have a hard time paying new prices when I can get an 8K Warn Jeep winch cheaper.  I've picked up several used Warns lately for $100 or less

Sounds like something is hanging up.  I'd check the spool first.  I wouldn't think it would freeze while you were using it. 

The All Balls I just got were packed in the plastic box/tub container.  The apparently NOS older ones without the side seals were on a cardboard backer and shrink wrapped.

Yeah you have to have a receipt.  The new bearings have the All Balls part number embossed on the side of the inner race.  That's what prompted me to call them, which is when they told me they are All Balls bearings in Pivotworks packaging now.

I got a few sets of Foreman 500 bearings for $22 over Thanksgiving weekend on Amazon.  Wish they were the good old Pivotworks bearings but they're not.  That said, I have the receipts so I'll get one time free replacement on them when they wear out.

I'll be popping the seals off and packing them full of good synthetic grease before I install any of them.

Oh I got you.  Yeah they just send a new pack with bearings and seals together.

Pivot Works wheel bearings are kind of loose , might as well put a new set that  I got in and send the old ones for in  replacement  , this will be the first set of Pivot Works that I am changing and going for the warranty , heard you'll talking about AllBalls owning Pivot Works  , so I guess they will replace it with All Balls in a Pivot Works package , and hope they give the seals with the warranty , anyone know if the seals come with a warranty 

 

 

Pivotworks I've gotten in the past haven't had side seals.  They've been open on the sides like OEM bearings.  Looks like All Balls bought them out in 2016 and they've transitioned to All Balls bearings (with side seals) in Pivotworks packaging. 

Since you only get one replacement, which you'll use when you send your bearings in, there won't be any future warranty on the ones they send as replacements.

Put a shot of starter fluid in the air cleaner.  If it fires off for a second you have a fuel delivery problem.  If not you have other issues (compression or timing, if you have spark).

Eh, better to have and not need, than to need and not have, right?

I did pick up some 300 BLK for a buddy.  His kids use his for deer hunting (younger boys who don't like recoil...yet) and it was $5/box, so I grabbed him 4 boxes of that.

I guess I'm old enough to remember when these were normal prices on the stuff, and like you, I don't shoot like I used to.  With a house full of girls, only one of whom has any interest at all in shooting, and that's limited interest, I don't do much shooting anymore.

They had XM193 for a hair under .17/round.  Not a bad price at all these days.
