are these all his (off limits to you) << cause i know how (off limit is) that is... Lol

    Nailed it.

Probably a good thing he hasn't let me use a lot of this stuff over the years, because when I was younger I didn't appreciate good tools and wouldn't have taken care of it.

But yeah, he had that 2100 that's never been used, and a 372XP that had never been used.  After I cut this tree up as much as I could using his old Homelite XL with a 16" bar, he FINALLY got the 372 out of the box and let me use it to finish up the tree.  That was only after I got to the point where the trunk was too thick for me to match cuts down either side with the 16" bar.

My girls are 16 and 14 now, so this was probably 6-8 years ago.

When running a longer bar and a skip-tooth .404 'falling saw', it's run at full throttle. The revs can be pulled down by hard feeding the saw.  Most fallers feed the saw with their knee.  Saw dogged into the tree, right hand lightly on the throttle, feeding the saw knee.  Head up looking for that 'widow maker' . . . . .

The saw is often 'burped' (flicked throttle) when limbing downed timber. Long bar, easier on the back when limbing . . .  Fallers liked the power of the old Sthil 090, but that square saw would beat the crap out of your legs when feeding the saw in a cut. It was often said . . . square saw, built by square heads.  The 2100 Husqvarna blew the old 090 Sthil out of the water . . .

Stay safe with your saw of choice.  🌲

Dad bought some land back in the early 80's and had it select cut.  All the loggers were using Husky 2100's, and after quizzing them and doing some research, he bought one.

Still in the box, never been used.😂

  3. Happy New Year guys!

Wife asked what I wanted to do.  I said "This."  (I was sitting in my recliner).

We compromised and are going to Memphis to get Oysters early afternoon (happy hour, 1/2 price oysters till 4), then coming home.

    Be safe out there tonight!

  4. My grandmother was born on 12/24. She said no one ever made a big deal about her birthday because it was Christmas Eve.

  5. That makes me cold just looking at it.

I wore shorts and a tshirt working on my shop Saturday.  Was mid 30's on my way to work this morning.

Warm compared to what yall up north are dealing with.

So here's the 125 I have now as it was when my buddy got it.

Guy wanted $100 for it, and my buddy wanted the racks and bumper for his kid's 125.

Curious as to whether anyone knows if these were Hondaline, homemade, or something off of another model possibly?

    125.jpg

I found some pics online, and it looks like the front bumper was a Hondaline bumper.  Still not sure about the rear rack.  Also had a headlight lens guard on it which appears to be Hondaline, and one of the guys on the Hoarder page asked what I wanted for it when I asked if anyone could tell what year 125 I had.

Anyone have a Hondaline catalog from 85ish?  I think I've found a parts bike for $100.  Thing is rough, but appears to be all there, and has a headlight grill which appear to bring pretty good money on ebay.  Hoping I can pick it up, get what I want off of it, and get my money back selling a couple of things off of it.

  7. Dang wiring diagram looks like Greek to me.

This thing worked well a couple of years ago.   Picked it up in 2013.  When I got it the carb and gas tank had stuff in it that looked like dried F26.  Worst fuel system I've ever seen.  Had to use muriatic acid and a pressure washer to get the tank clean, then sloshed some premix around in the tank and stored it dry.

It's electric start so my sister can crank it easily on her own.  Dang thing probably weighs 150 lbs too!

Something else popped up for my boy , we tried his 27 Swamplites on the rear and they can work once he puts the floor boards on and pulls the fender forward a bit , but he is going to need to change the Yamaha rims or get wheel spacers so mo'money

he is going to need some front shocks or the 2 inch lift blocks , not sure what the right shock would be for a 2 inch lift on a 1994 TRX300 2wd , do any of you'll ---- Where's Jeep been , he always seem to know things like that ----

Haven’t messed with a 2wd before. How are they different than a 4wd shock?

  9. No hurry Shade.  This one will be for the kid who is now 5 months old, so will be awhile before she's riding it!

Just trying to get it put up so it's not sitting out in the weather.  Got the fenders and tank off this morning and put in the shop, and got the rest rolled up under a Jeep hard-top behind the shop to keep it out of the weather.

  10. Pretty sure the 125 is an 85.  Looks like the 85's had a different starter button than the later ones.

How does the seat/rear fender come off of these?  I haven't had a chance to really look at it yet, but want to see what all I'm going to have to do to pull the motor, and this is the first chain driven rig I've worked on.

Looks like the rear fender and seat are made as one piece.

Jeffo , is there a animal mascot related to the Oklahoma program , looking for something to cook on Saturday for the game , isn't OU  the Sooners and pull a wagon with horses , then maybe some horse sausage would be in order , which believe it or not is big out in the Acadiana country side  and gettable  >>>>  would guess your having tiger , that could be expensive and a little hard to find ..... seen LSU arrive in Atlanta this morning , the count down to kick off  has begun ------- going to take a stab at the final score , my prediction 37-24 LSU

Sooners were folks who snuck over and staked claims before they were supposed to when the land was divvyed up.

Texas fans call them land thieves lol
