I would pass on all 3 personally.

The foreman because of the water modifications. Price is only ok. It has been in deep water and likely not serviced correctly afterward.

The 420s are alright but both are WAY too much money even though they are low hours. 6k for a 420 is out-of-control IMO.

2k maybe 2500 USD for one in very good stock condition. Wait for a 500 Forman ideally but something under 3k

Great looking restoration! Too rich for my blood but at half price I would take it all day.

I would just like to put it out there that I want one of the 3D printed enclosure units.

This is just such a great idea and is well implemented. I need one for every model with a fan now lol

I know for sure only one thing... it makes me feel sick when I breathe it and I will do what I can to mitigate contact with the stuff.

Being extra cautious in case of danger is usually a pain but a good idea.

If you are dead-set on bringing these back to life use Loctite Navel Jelly.

Phosphoric acid based cleaner but not as aggressive as concentrated (Prep and Etch)

Paint the pink goo all over it, shove in a zip top and wait a few hours. Acid is the only way to clean these properly.

Finish with a dip in very warm lacquer (or something similar)

If it's hot enough when you dip (both the part and the product) it wont close up the holes on the screen and restrict flow.

I don't know what product number to look for but this type of thing is what I would look to replace with if I wasn't going to cheap out and make it myself.

On the yellow... I'm conflicted. Either Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic or SC1

I would use the TW "Ceramic" coating on my machine but its a little more application work.

SC1 would probably be the best. Nice smell and the owner would be more likely to reapply often.

Underside of the fenders get the cheapest silicone spray I can find. Spray on and wipe out with a microfiber.

The science types are probably right and it doesn't even affect humans. I know there are some payouts over it and I would think there is good reason for a big company to be letting go of any money. Always skeptical of "scientific" results nowadays... comes down to who pays for the study. I am not someone who claims to know either way.

Seems like doing the non-joke parts of what you described is not a bad thing... even if all it's actually doing is filtering dust.

Most people who ride these without knowing this first doesn't like it. It's arguably not as fun to ride depending on your ride style. 

For sure it isn't easy to slide around without leaning like an axle quad. You have to ride the xx different from any other quad.

That bike would have stalled or been catchable if not for being big-bore. It idled right off the cliff

Don't get me started on jumping one of these lol

They probably do.

I put mostly stock filters back in utility bikes so my UNI experience is mostly sport stuff. The UNI I put in with this home-made cage wasn't bought for the 300.

This is a good representation of what the bike will actually look like after a few months of real use. I will come back and post its beauty shots in a few days.

Shifts great, everything works, great power, engine sounds amazing. Owner is very happy with the results.

Happen to have a pic of that PVC and bendable wire?  Sounds interesting.

I feel your pain on tossing something that can function again.

Any metal painted or otherwise has the possibility of flaking rust into the intake while plastic would potentially fall apart but then what's going into the intake (in that worst case scenario) is soft material. I think it's the smartest move to replace with a new cage.

Far as I remember, every UNI I have put in still needs the cage to keep it from folding in on its self.

No pictures but I do still have the bike (It's still in the family anyway)

I might get a picture some day but it was just a 4 inch long piece of thick PVC with some holes drilled in it and the wire was threaded through the holes and bent into the shape of the filter cage. It was just some ground wire from Romex if I remember. I put a bigger UNI off something else in the bike. Just working with what I had on hand sort of deal.

I've been down this road and it doesn't work out good IME.

Long/short is acid. I used Hydrochloric (Muriatic) and soaked for a few minutes to remove all the corrosion and flake.

I then cleaned with soap, water and air compressor to remove the acid. Finished with a coating of air filter oil for anti-corrosion.

It worked but it didn't work out well enough to make it worth the time, effort and results.

I also made a replacement "cage" out of PVC and bendable wire.

That even allowed me to put a larger foam air filter in. I would go that route if it's not a customer bike. Best cost to performance IMO.

Edit: After everything I did the stock cage looked great but (3?) years later the screen had begin to rust again. Metal on the inside on the intake tube is a bad design. I would take this opportunity to get rid of that potential failure point.

For sure. Dirty product is a problem with vape stuff.

My experience with vape and smokeless is that it's not as "good" so makes you more likely to quit but can still satisfy the urges when they are too much.

Every single person on this planet is chemically dependent on something. (caffeine, cigs, liquor etc but if not that it's exercise, food, drama or some other "high") 

Said that to say no judgement from me (should be or anyone) but being around to hear "paw paw" for years to come wouldn't be a bad thing.

Thought you had already gotten there but if it has that pattern and a diamond shaped head it's for sure a copper.

Diamond shaped head and eye shape are the best way to determine if dangerous or not.

I just move most snakes venomous or not. I use a pole with a slipknot on the end, catch them behind the head and just put them into a plastic trash can. 

A few non-venomous snakes are good for the claim. They can keep the animals that destroy things (squirrels, rabbits, rats) in check.

Edit: Was fishing in our pond once and caught something. Reeling it onto the bank I saw that it was a snake and panicked. I flung the snake out of the water and behind me hitting my dad in the shoulder. Might have bit him if not for the hook/bait still being in. It was a cotton mouth

I also know what RoundUp tastes like and what getting it in your eyes feels like. Used to spray it with no protection in the wind when I was younger.

Hydraulic fluid is not aloe vera. Would not be at all surprised to hear that you developed a slight shake over the years.

Take care of yourself! You have the means to and there are people who are important to that who want you to stay around for as long as possible.

This is what I'll be converting next. Got the bike but have yet to order the motor kit. Too many other projects to finish up first.

Indian replica would be super cool. A Schwinn beach cruiser would be neat as well.

People are dropping from Cancer left and right near me. Same people who have been tending their fence lines for years.

Glyphosate 

It is a known carcinogen and a bad one. One guy here actually got a settlement but there are tons of class action suits around this product for a reason.

Every tool has a purpose but that is something that will never come on my property. I would look for an alternative yesterday. Even though it won't fully protect you... get a very good respirator and wear it. Long sleeves and glasses too with a shower directly afterward wouldn't be a bad idea.

It also gives arguably better airflow as the main intake would be behind the gas tank instead of closer to the engine.

This bike is never going into deep water again but I think it's the right thing to do either way. 

You can buy this part brand new for a reasonable-ish price.

There are some that don't have the deal on the side that interchange but I don't know off hand what models.
