@jeepwm69 , LSU plays Arkansas Saturday ,  if I was betting on the game with my heart I am all LSU , if betting with my money and brain , I am going for Arkansas this year , LOL

I don't follow like some people but have people close to me who are really passionate about it. Our top teams are AR LSU and Bama so there is a bit of conflict just built in lol

Help !!!!!    there is a song stuck in my head , I posted it here and can't find it , it is like country hip hop , a guy sitting on a throne of beer boxes with a crown on his head , with two chicks dancing on side of him , one chick is the drummer , he is singing about the days of the week , getting paid on Friday and being broke again on Monday

I'm sorry you had that stuck in your head for any amount of time... 🤢

Edit: Kinda puts me in the mind of this song... like this one better lol

  3. Found the original owner's online profile and a few posts he made about the bike.

The photos are of this actual bike when it was new.

This quote is from 2010. One of the highlights is that the bike was sold new in 09.

The PO (2nd owner) told me he bought with under 500 miles (300) and only put about 300 more on it.

Total mileage today would be comfortably less than 1000.

    Quote

    Hi everyone,

This ride was bought new on 12/24/09! That's right it sat on the showroom floor for 5 years without ever even having gas or oil in it or having the electrolytes added to the battery. Dealer will confirm this. The only issue is a weeping oil seal at the bottom of the oil tank (down tube of the frame) where the low oil warning sensor reads. I'm looking into this. Exhaust restriction has been machined out. I recently read something about "screens" in the expansion chamber but cannot confirm their existence. If they do exist they have not been removed. It doesn't matter though, this little bike screams! I can't believe how fast it is for only 49.6cc! The only other defect is the tip of the clutch level broke off when it walked off the suicide stand. Otherwise as new, less than 300 miles!

If you aren't familiar with these bikes do a search on youtube. They are very popular overseas and highly respected. There are all sorts of hop up parts for them. VERY FEW were ever imported. Original sticker was almost $5,000!

These little bikes aren't little by the way, they use the rookie frame and suspension. Showa inverted forks adorn the front, the wheels are superlaced dedicated 17" SUMO wheels, the tranny is a 6 speed with a hydraulic clutch, the instrument guage is digital, the brakes are dual piston (forget the make) and huge rotors, electric and kick start. This thing is the most well built 50 I've ever seen. It is built far better than most of the Japanese bike I've ever owned (and I've owned many).

Please don't be turned off that this is my 1st post, I am a longtime member of *********.com and have several hundred posts under the same screen name mostly in the rockies section. I have sold a number of bikes to members there (including 3 in the last month) and can provide references.

I'm letting this one go because it was an impulse buy and I deluded myself into believing I could use it as a pit bike at the horse show events I photograph. (my website is **************) But there are 2 problems with that. The bikes I have used in the past (scooters and a Honda CT70) are clutchless so I can carry a large camera/lens on my left shoulder, and the GG is TOO loud for the horses. It screams and they don;t like it. Small clutchless 4Ts are the in ticket for me.

SO I'm hoping for $3,000 for this near flawless not even broken in rarer than rare mini moto. Or I am interested in a recent EC300 or recent TXT. I love trials and woods riding. Trades will be considered.

Please feel free to call me in the mountain time zone ********** and I will answer any questions you have.

OH and it is currently Colorado Motorized Bicycle registered (moped/scooter). It is a 3 year reg with 2 years remaining, and allows you to park on the sidewalk, ride without license or insurance although that is a really bad idea! And it comes with the original MSO, we don't title under 50cc here. But with the MSO you can get a title in your state.

Call or email me if you'd like more pics.

    Thanks, ****

  4. Awesome!

Thank you again for sharing this!

Makes me want mine back more and more lol

Keep the long tube on the carb if you can. I just like it.

Was wrong about it giving too much issue from the sound of it.

Thought is liquid fuel would dump as it condenses on its way to the intake but maybe not!

    Saddlebags?

Edit: Would look cool with some more black accents on it to match the tank. Just awesome either way.

Better hose now and shorten the intake metal? Nitrile flex gas filler line? Seriously on the black dress sock with light oil as a pre-filter. That can is actively destroying that engine. Ask me how I know

  5. I don't like the look of the product you linked. Looks like it would be inferior to a potentially cheaper option.

The IRS and SRA are not different enough to make it fit or not fit on a trailer.

Edit: The product you linked is meant to be towed by an ATV and would not be road legal. I thought you were linking that as your haul trailer... 😅

And IRS vs Solid axle.....if you're going to be trail riding a lot, IRS is the way to go.  You get much better ride quality.  For work, I prefer a sold rear axle.  Stronger, more solid, and cheaper.

    Perfectly said! I agree

All I could add is that with a bike like this if you could only have one... go IRS because it is good enough for work anyway and does everything else better.

Side note... IRS has the ability to "squat" and "stand" as the suspension travels.

This will change the width a tiny bit depending on how much weight is applied to the bike. The difference is so little you don't notice but that may account for specs.

This is the trailer type I would recommend. Ramp is included as part of the design and very low cost.

  6. Amazing work!

The carb setup is gonna give you problems. I hope it works but that might be the farthest carb to intake distance I have ever seen 🤣

Edit: A black dress sock pre-filter would be a great addition to that can. Those are no good.

That is super cool !   How the heck did You end up with it ?

Thanks! Right place and time when the PO decided to let it go.
Bought for a reasonable price but a very rare bike so it wasn't free.

Manufactured in Spain. It was imported by the original owner to Colorado where the PO purchased.

PO found his way to Arkansas. I am the 3rd owner.

  8. Hello!

I wanted to share with y'all my 2004 GasGas EC Rookie.

This bike is arguably not a motorcycle but is actually a "scooter". Part of their "enduro-cross" line (04 EC50 Rookie)

It's a 49cc 2-stroke engine on their 125/250 frame. GasGas was originally a Spanish company and was when this machine rolled off the factory floor.

The company is now majority owned by KTM. Current bikes produced with the GasGas name are made by KTM.

It was imported into the US and was never sold in North America. The bike is incredibly rare. A researched estimate puts the amount of running ones in the US at less than 10.

Because of its classification as a scooter (in Arkansas) no motorcycle license is required. It also does not require tag or insurance to be legally ran like a scooter.

The machine is geared correctly for and capable of 55mph but is mostly for darting around town.

Starts and runs like new. Motor is whisper quiet and can be started with a firm hand.

Notice that it is a "Supermotard" which I think is a fair nickname for myself.

Feel free to share your own rare machines!

    Thank you for looking!

  9. Just a small update for now with many more to come in the next few weeks.

Local machine shop could not do the bore.

The bike was stripped to the frame. All components that were deemed worthy were glass bead blasted. The frame, swingarm and many other smaller parts are getting painted. White is the intended frame color with brushed finish on most and polish on a few pieces.

New parts list is enough to make a man cry. Both in that the price is high and that it will be new OEM condition after the work is complete.

New OEM crankshaft, bearings (pump and transmission included), seals, piston, ring and cylinder (85cc)

The motor will be ACTUALLY NEW instead of a ticking bomb like a Hotrods or Wiseco crank kit.

That is one thing I will never be convinced of buying unless there is no other option. The new owner of this bike make a great decision to spend the extra money and put it back to OEM new.

New OEM cylinder was 3 everything else totaled up to around 5 so there will be (at minimum) 8 in this engine after it is complete.

It is going to be such an amazing bike. It will be ridden sparingly and by adults so will likely last forever.

I don't hear anything that bothered me , other than maybe opening up that exhaust some , that is a Sport bike right , was kind of dark in the pic - LOL ----- SEND IT

Oh I do. That's the bike from my "wide trail riding" video

Opening up the exhaust? This thing is LOUD when opened up already.

My main complaint is that the White Brothers e-series pipe is too loud. Needs to be repacked... it's on the list.

If you don't already know about the memes surrounding this song well... there is a bit of a cult-following around the intro lol

This one is referred to as the "to be continued" meme.

There are several compilations of the memes but the general premise is pretty simple.

I don't know the entire content of this compilation so consider it NSFW

  13. Hello everyone!

I wanted to start a thread to document noises.

Wanna start by saying that this is very perception based and a difference in how you hold the camera can give misleading information.

If you are capable of posting a short video detailing either what an engine should (or should not) sound like it may be very helpful to someone in their own diagnosis.

For your consideration... this is a clip of my 2000 400ex which to my ear sounds amazing. Thoughts?

Please feel free to post you own proper sounding quads for consideration.

    Thanks for looking!

Would it be better to get the slightly more expensive one with the ESP? Or would the other one without ESP be better for towing? Can't you select it into manual and electric gear shifting?

    Avoid ESP like the plague.

Consider buying used as well. If you are not going with IRS (which you should IMO) there are comparatively many options for a used machine.

The main disadvantage of Honda's independent rear was perfectly described by fish. If you load the back up too heavy they won't ride as well as the SRA.

My counterpoint to this is just don't overload the rack. If you have something that heavy... put it in the trailer.

Hard to go wrong either way.

  15. Bacon... 🤤

This is my go to. Wright's as well but WAY cheaper for the ends and pieces.

The bad part is that you will get much more fat than strip-style but if you use it for cooking (or suet for birds) the value can not be beat.

We filter the fat/grease and pour into ice cube trays. Freeze the cubes of fat and then pop them out into a zip-top bag for long term storage.
Just grab one or more out of the bag for pan frying, breads, etc. Love this method so much.

As an aside... the best burger I have ever eaten was ground with our grinder from a beautiful piece of beef and some of the bacon ends and pieces.

What I can't understand is how the Foreman 520 PS was a towing capacity of 384kg, but the ones with IRS have a towing capacity of 599kg even though they have the almost the same engine, how is that possible?

Practically (as you suspect) they would not be that different. In the lab, IRS seems to outperform due to travel in the rear keeping the load planted and allowing the power to transfer better to the thing being towed.

I think the takeaway should be don't concern yourself with the listed capacity.

Either of those machines will outperform most competitors on the market when all factors are considered.

Avoid electric shift/Hondamatic and the bike will be a new family heirloom.

Edit: I am a fan of Honda's IRS. If money isn't a big object consider going that route either way.

  17. Welcome!

Foreman IRS with power steering is a great "last quad you will ever need" choice. Hard to go wrong as long as you stay away from ES and Hondamatic IMO

@SamUK will be able to tell you about street legalization in your neck of the woods but here you need to add a few things.

Turn signals and street tires are the biggest hurdles for most folks who want to drive on the paved roads here (Arkansas)

Amazon and other online retailers have full battery-powered kits to add headlight, taillight, brake light and turn signals to any machine.

I am looking to license one of my quads for the road as well so I'll be following your journey!

  18. Thank you for the info!

    Currently leaning to the PCFC

My usage would not include modifications so the PC5 seems like overkill but aside from that... I also think the FC is a better fit.

For me... the ability to richen the bike (like turning an air/fuel screw) is very important. I have a possibly wrong belief that if the engine is running rich it will last much longer.

Not too much but a bit on the fuel-rich side is how I run most of my machines.

The Fuel Controller will (in my understanding) give control over the fuel/air ratio (like an air/fuel screw) but not much else. Lots of people love the PC5
