  1. I put in a new waterproof 30 amp inline fuse, redid some other connections and used heat shrink tube all all of them. So far so good with shifting. As always I will keep everyone updated
  2. @Melatv that crossed my mind, I never really looked at it to see either.
  3. Thank you for pulling out the harness. It seems everyone has just one fuse in the box with the red wires, I wonder why I have 2? I'll get it running and just pull one fuse at a time and see what quits working haha
  4. So I looked at the registration and on the registration it goes E2240Y where as the bill of sale says E2204Y. The 40Y shows an ES machine for me, so it might just be a typo on the BOS. Again I will pull the winch to double check. I also plan on buying a new inline fuse this weekend then wrapping it all back up. Also here is a picture I snapped of the engine last night.
  5. @_Wilson_™ I have the first one. @Fishfiles for all appearances it is an ES it has everything for electric shift, I am just concerned about the VIN. It put the current winch and plate on it after I got it. The original owner just used a piece of 1/4" bar stock to secure the winch so he would of had an unobstructed view of the vin. Depending when I get home tonight I'll pull the winch off and double check the vin. I feel the chances are slim that he guessed on the vin and it worked. That or this machine is possibly stolen and a vin was used off a wrecked or parts bike.
  6. So my winch and mounting plate are in the way and it'll take me to long to pull it out tonight. I'll try tomorrow. Thanks again. So the VIN coming back as an S and not ES is very confusing. Not even sure what that means or how it could happen
  7. Thank you everyone for your help. I am not sure where the vin is on the wheeler but these are the stickers I could find. I also have the bill of sale from when the guy I bought it from bought it from the original owner. So I have 3 30 amp fuses one on the orange inline like others have shown and 2 in the same holder with red wires coming out of it. I see the 3 30amp when looking at the wiring harness on partzilla but not in the service manual. And what also gets me is that when I pulled the inline 30amp out of the holder and put it back in, it started shifting again. And mind you that goes from the red white wire in the relay to a red wire to the starter solenoid. So I am a bit lost.
  8. Thank you guys I appreciate it. Like I said before it is confusing why mine is wired one way and the manual shows another. This would be a great time for a parts wheeler but hard to find one by me.
  9. So it appears that the orange wire and fuse is original, but I have a few questions, the manual shows it as a red wire and going into the positive battery terminal but that is not the case with mine, also why would it start shifting again after I pull the fuse and put it back in?
  10. Thank you, so it looks like the orange wire with the fuse is OE. It doesn't show it in the service manual, it shows red wire.
  11. I looked at a color one and its supposed to be the red/white from the relay into the fuse and red from the fuse to the positive battery terminal. Mine goes red/white from the relay into the orange inline fuse to red wire to the starter solenoid. And yes those are the ones I peeled back
  12. Yah I am just trying to see what a normal box/wire location looks like since several wires have been cut and spliced. Thank you
  13. So I peeled back the white covering and some black gooey crap. I dont think I've seen a connection like this before.
  14. Does anyone have a picture of the fusebox and all of the wiring? I just want to see what it looks like altogether, say when you pull the seat off and the battery holder off.
  15. Ok so we seem to be on the same page with everything. I like your paper copy of the manual with the color coded wiring, I have the black and white on my phone. I think I will just buy a whole new inline fuse, heat shrink and really seal it up. Thank you for your help.
  16. It'll have to wait until this weekend when I have time. It is weird though when I pulled the fuse it started shifting again
  17. So the duel 30 amp fuse I have has all red wires. I guess I could just rewire the orange inline fuse better. Other than that it appears the wires are where they should be.
  18. Ok so I think i figured it out. I was looking at the wiring diagram. This orange wire with the 30 amp is replacing the stock fuse location. Now if you look at the picture and the diagram at the same time the orange with fuse to the red wire into the starter should not go there, it should go into the terminal that goes directly to the battery. Now the red wire with the blue crimp comes off the dual 30 amp, pictured in my previous post, should go to the starting solenoid, if I am not mistaken. It is hard to explain it but I believe the po switched the wires, either purposely or accidentally.
  19. I do not have a 30 amp in my fuse block The only 30 amp I have is in the second picture with the two fuses and that goes with the solid red wires I asked about eariler
  20. Thank you. I have some heat shrink tubes I'll use on the black and white wire. Ok, so the red white should not be attached to the starter solenoid at all? Ok great. Now it needs to be removed from it and attached to the shift motor fuse, now where is that located? I know the black box with the lights and ignition and what not, but not the shift motor fuse. I prob do but can't tell from the diagram. Again thank you for the help.
  21. Ok, the fuse goes into the large red/white wire in the main relay on one end and the positive side of the starter solenoid. Now do these red wires look like they should? From the 30 amp fuse one wire splits into two, one running to the positive battery terminal and the other split goes into the fuse box. The second none split looks like it goes right to the wiring harness.
  22. The black and white wire is where the original owner had the winch switch wired to for power, I removed the wire awhile ago when I put my new winch in. Does the current connection look OE to you?
  23. Thank you, I unplugged the fuse and it started shifting again. I will trace the connections and get rid of it
  24. what does that fuse with the orange wire belong too? The fuse is fine i am just wondering
  25. I tried shifting it and nothing. I did hit the shift buttons up and down while holding the voltmeter on the battery and there was no change.
