jeepwm69 6,581 Posted April 8, 2022 Thought yall might find this interesting, especially @AKATV Was looking at the somewhat scratched, faded, dingy meter cover on my kid's 350 Rancher a couple of days ago, and yeah, you can polish them out but even then they rarely look as good as a new one. So for her 05 350ES the meter cover is part number $169. https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/37201-HN5-A11 While looking at similar looking meters, I came across this, which is for an 01-04 Rubicon, which is $84, or about 1/2 price https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/37201-HN0-A01?ref=9d99ec83d458c5bfa02c53f3afd1643d043900b2 Note that not only do they look the same, but fitment for that Rubicon shows it also fits the 350 Ranchers, so not only do they look similar, but they're the same part, with different part numbers. Honda does this pretty often (for example, years ago the part number for the 07-08 420 Crankshafts was different than 09-12, but they were the same part, and the early crank was about $100 more). Takes some digging, but if you're familiar with Hondas in general, and parts look similar across several models, there's a good chance you can find parts that interchange that will be cheaper. 1
Fishfiles 17,024 Posted April 8, 2022 I have seen that on different parts myself , the 1st gen 450 and the second gen 450 , some parts will fit both , different part numbers and the older model parts cost more ------ some 300 parts are the same way

jeepwm69 6,581 Posted April 8, 2022 I don't buy anything there. I use RMATV. Partzilla's website/schematics are a whole lot better than RMATV!
