johnnyc 0 Posted March 5 Hey guys, need some advice from you pro's... I have a 2017 Honda Foreman 4x4 foot shift. fan stopped spinning... so here's what I did: - replaced fan motor (good) - radiator is clean clean clean.. no dirt or debris (good) - checked for power on fan wires with a tester (good) - coolant was fine but replenished it anyway (good) - fuses were good but changed them anyway (good) - oil (good) - oil filter installed correctly (good) ***but fan will still not spin and eventually overheats*** my friend said it could be thermostat...but not sure.. any suggestions? and if it is the thermostat, where is it located? can't find any directions that show the location of the thermostat. greatly appreciate any feedback, thank you all

johnnyc 0 Posted March 5 Sorry about that… yeah it’s a 2017 foreman TRX500FM1 foot shift. and by thermostat, you mean water temp sensor? thanks again
toodeep 1,737 Posted March 5 That would be it and it's right in the spark plug area of the head. If you unplug the sensor the fan should run all the time when the key is on.

johnnyc 0 Posted March 6 uh oh.... what if it is that? that the bikes computer?
jeepwm69 7,233 Posted March 6 Yeah, but sometimes only the fan circuit goes out. Machine will run fine, doesn't hurt anything else, just the fan doesn't work. I have had a couple of 500 Foremans like that. 20 hours ago, toodeep said: That would be it and it's right in the spark plug area of the head. toodeep 1,737 Posted March 7 Most of the time it's just wiring. They like to break on the right side (follow the temp sensor wire over to the main harness) and they break in the bend area where it goes to the main harness. Nothing is a sure thing though so step one has to be done to go onto step 2.
