Scotticus 777 Posted February 22, 2020 I have a new 2020 Rancher with 0 miles. What is the best method to break in the new engine? Some say ride it easy some say ride it hard. Almost everyone says to vary the RPM and let the engine brake. I'm going to follow the expert advice I get on this forum. Thanks
toodeep 1,737 Posted February 22, 2020 Go ride it and change the oil when it's due. Treat it like normal with varying throttle throughout the ride.

F250 guy 106 Posted February 24, 2020 (edited) @toodeep @Scotticus idk if this applys but here's how I did my 300 when I got it off of the older gentleman up the road. Think Diesel Engine, you wanna load it down with a good heavy trailer or hold it with the brakes to where your slowly moving a steady speed but still gotta pull hard and pin the throttle get those rings to seat good n tight. Backing off and moderating it. Edited February 24, 2020 by F250 guy
