Supposed to be low 60s today and tomorrow then cooling down Wednesday back into the 40s with 40% chance of rain. Thursday down into 30s again with 80% chance of rain and snow. Winter is not giving up here, the only good thing is it isn't jumping to solid days of 50s and 60s that would cause our snow pack to melt quickly. All surrounding mountains are are at 120%+ snow pack. If it warms up too fast we are going to lose a lot of water really fast. Was hoping for a slower warm up

I've driven in thousands of miles of horrible conditions. I can't imagine driving snow plows and clearing roads for people. Hats off to those folks They don't have snowballs they have another kind.

Very unfortunate. We have avalanches in our area as well. The sad thing is, The people that are caught in them are generally someplace they shouldn't be. We have skiers that get caught in them all the time because they are out of bounds from the regulated ski areas. There are crews that go up each day with newly accumulated snow and shoot cannons to trigger the avalanches that could happen. The guys that go out on snowmobile's and get caught or killed go back into the mountains and are climbing areas that they should not be climbing and set them off. We know one guy that died about fifteen years ago, He and his buddies were way back into areas that were known for avalanches and they went anyway and we're climbing and riding steep north facing slopes. That's asking for it in my opinion. There are literally thousands of suare miles here where they would not run into anything that would be considered dangerous. I know guys right now that go out virtually every weekend and they are just flirting with disaster. I agree it is very sad when one loses their life And I am certainly not Downplaying the situation in colorado. Our area has avalanches frequently, If I rode frequently I would certainly choose To avoid those types of areas.

  8. Always😁 All I know is, if the wife is comfortable she's happy, when she's happy usually everybody's in a better mood.πŸ™‚ As far as covered in snow? Not here, under cover during the ugly months. Only out when when I have to get rid of the "magically delicious" snow cover.πŸ˜‡ As far as windows open? Of course!!!! It's only been getting down to 18-20 at night. Sleeping with just a sheet on.πŸ˜‰

  11. The Norwegians and the Irish....The reason the Irish celebrate St. Patrick's Day is because this is when St. Patrick drove the Norwegians out of Ireland. It seems that some centuries ago, many Norwegians came to Ireland to escape the bitterness of the Norwegian winter. Ireland was having a famine at the time, and food was scarce. The Norwegians were eating almost all the fish caught in the area, leaving the Irish with nothing to eat but potatoes. St. Patrick, taking matters into his own hands, as most Irishmen do, decided the Norwegians had to go. Secretly, he organized the Irish IRATRION (Irish Republican Army to Rid Ireland of Norwegians). Irish members of IRATRION passed a law in Ireland that prohibited merchants from selling ice boxes or ice to the Norwegians, in hopes that their fish would spoil. This would force the Norwegians to flee to a colder climate where their fish would keep. Well, the fish spoiled, all right, but the Norwegians, as everyone knows today, thrive on spoiled fish So, faced with failure, the desperate Irishmen sneaked into the Norwegian fish storage caves in the dead of night and sprinkled the rotten fish with lye, hoping to poison the Norwegian invaders. But, as everyone knows, the Norwegians thought this only added to the flavor of the fish, and they liked it so much they decided to call it "lutefisk," which is Norwegian for "luscious fish." Matters became even worse for the Irishmen when the Norwegians started taking over the Irish potato crop and making something called "lefse." Poor St. Patrick was at his wit's end, and finally on March 17th, he blew his top and told all the Norwegians to "GO TO !!" So they all got in their boats and emigrated to Minnesota---- the only other paradise on earth where smelly fish, old potatoes and plenty of cold weather can be found in abundance. The End
