16 hours ago, [email protected] said:This display monitor is no longer available. How do I get in touch with AKATV to send off for repair.
Or to purchase a refurbished one. Honda parts#37200-HN7-731
Thank you
Welcome to the forum!
What is wrong or going on with your old one?
Send a few pics with details as Jeep said above
I will send my contact information to your message box as well

Yes, you would need a whole replacement circuit card and most likely by the sounds of it, your LCD would need to be refurbished as well.

The bottom line is if it’s so damaged that parts are literally falling off the board that means the copper traces have dissolved and there’s nothing to attach them to
Water damage boards are pretty much end of life and they are nonrepairable unfortunatelyI can most likely source the correct parts to get you back up and running,!but a repair for water damage of that level, at least by me, is not cost-effective nor reliable long-term

Thanks for the kind words, glad to help
The repair costs really depend on what issues you are having and the availability of the replacement parts
I have repairs ranging from polarization film and backlight filter replacement for Sun damage to circuit card assembly replacement due to water damage, and/or whole assembly replacement, individual circuit component replacement and reprogramming
A few pictures inside and out and a brief description really helps out in the beginning.
I seem to be getting a lot of speedometer circuit cards lately that are heavily water damaged and not repairable, so they must be replaced as well
It really helps initially to remove the top cover and see if you’ve got water damage inside on the circuit card
99% of the time the backlight and LED will still work with an extremely water damaged non-repairable circuit card, which leads to the owner thinking that the speedometer is operational and it’s just a Sun damaged LCD display issue

Hi, welcome aboard!
I sent my contact information to your message boxIf you can tell us a little bit more about what you have going on exactly I can more effectively troubleshoot how to help repair it
Removing the top cover and taking a few pictures, help a lot as well
Does your back light come on?
Does any of your LEDs work at all?
Does the screen look discolored?
Possibly have water damage internally?
These few things will help narrow it down

Glad to see you made it over here, welcome to the forum!
Seeing how these will run without a meter even plugged up to the machine, the mystery deepens
If this was a Honda dealership and they broke your meter plug because they did not know how to get it apart,
that alone speaks volumes about their service and technical proficiency.
I would be hitting them up for the cost of a replacement plug and or meter or see what they are willing to do
I can repair it for you anyways, but it wont impede function the way it is, you just need need to keep it waterproof for now
As far as you ATV issues at this point we need to confirm, that you have spark, fuel, and compression
Other members will be along to help soon as well

Thanks shade
I have asked around, I was just gonna gut this one and rebuild it, but the endcap is pretty smashed
Let me know either way and if it’s not cost-effective to ship, I’ll see if I can find one up here

The 10th digit of the VIN is a 1, meaning 2001
Why were we originally thinking it was 1996?

Welcome to the forum cdyoder!
Yep, concur 100% with what Jeep said above-
My 2 cents is that it is/was probably full of water with that top cover being broken and corroded.
I bet if you open it up it most likely looks like something that came off the Titanic, from water damages.
Take the screws out of the backplate and pop the cover off and post a picture of what it looks like inside.
I can source you parts to get you fixed up, if you are interested
I will send my direct contact information to your message box

Welcome to the forum!
Thanks for posting pictures. It really helps to see what you have going on.
Looks like you might have an extremely sun damaged LCD, but I can repair that if you need it
The part that concerns me is there looks like a little bit of condensation residue inside the meter
You might wanna pop that top cover off and make sure you don’t have water damages because that
usually destroys the circuit card to the point of no repair
The top cover looks pretty good though, so you might not have any water in there at all just want to make sure
I will send my contact information to your message box right now

Thanks for the pictures, it really does help a lot.
Your fading is just standard aging and UV/Sun damage to the polarization films over 20+ years.
It can be repaired though, and I have sent my contact information to your message box if you would like to look into a repair.-AKATV

I wanted to let all members know that member @Fat Tire has a lead on on a couple NOS
Honda Speedometers for the Foreman 450S footshift model 1998-01, absolutely brand new in the box, and one used one with under 300 miles in VGC
If you have the "black screen of death" common to the 450S, or yours is water damaged and/or non-repairable etc.. and you have found that these are discontinued- I would quickly look him up, I expect they will not be around long
If I get any requests, I will forward them to him as well.

Welcome to the forum!
I should be able to get you taken care of no problem. A few pictures would be quite helpful in determining what repairs you actually need.
If you could post a few pictures with IT powered up AND your headlights turned on so the back light is illuminated, that would be helpful as well as a few details about what you actually have going on
I will send my contact information to your message box.Hope to see you around the forum
