Ouch ok thanks for the advice.

That dealer is 2.5 hours away and the next ones are 3.5 hours away.

This dealer said they check the fluid level before it leaves (then why was it still wrong…?). They will take it apart but if they find nothing broken they are worried I will end up footing the bill.

if it were mine ?, i'd drive the 3.5 hrs to the other dealer, but this is me..lol. i have a hard time dealing with sorry ppl..lol.

Here is there response after I reached out, got a response, replied with additional info, and was hoping for a solution. Needless to say this isn’t a good look for Honda. I chose this brand SPECIFICALLY because of a reputation for durability and quality. And here I am wasting my precious time on my new $9k bike.

ok, now that you have that out of the way, now look into another dealer besides the one that sold it to you.what i have learned in my yrs of dealing with '' stupid '' dealerships ?, is there is always another dealership that will take care of you. what the first one wants you to do..is give up !. never...EVER..give up, if it takes getting a lawyer ?, then do it...then sue for damages while your at it. ppl give up too easy..and that is what they want you to do...GIVE UP ?!. don't gve up !.

That's all that needs to be done if your four knuckles have bad bearings in them. The '13 knuckles I got cheap from PSN had been underwater (with insufficient factory grease in them) and the bearings were junk, so I pressed out the bearings in the original 350 knuckles that I had removed, cleaned and repacked 5 years ago and cleaned and repacked them again. Same part number... and with almost 9,000 miles on them they are still like new.

As for the extra work I did on the guards that decision was one one of those "I think it's possible so I'm gonna try" experiments. I didn't care if I screwed up and ruined the guards in the first attempts because replacements are only $11.66 each shipped at PSN.  :classic_biggrin:

No matter what it takes the 420 disc brakes conversion is an awesome mod and worth every effort for sure!

The only issue I found during this teardown was a bent steering stem shaft. I hadn't noticed anything wrong before now, so I'm guessing that I must have bent it in the woods climbing over dead trees or something.... maybe jammed a wheel hard between two logs when the Creamsicle landed? Dunno, but PSN is bailing me out on that fix too, cheaply.

i took the plunge on putting disk brakes on my '89 trx350D foreman 4x4, as far as i know ?, no one has done it ?, it was a gamble...but i studied it long and hard. all i had to do was get by the mounting of the brake mounting plate ?, and swap out the 11 inch rims/tires to 12 inch, which..i already had my '03 trx450fm here to use the tires off of, soo...i went for it. so far ?, works great !.

Man that thing is mint.  I can't believe you haven't sold it yet.  Have you had it listed on facebook long?   As much as I hate it, that seems to be where all the buying/selling action is these days.

yes..its mint, and you yourself..i don't build junk..lol. i've had it listed on fakebook for about a month now ?, no one seems to have any cash laying around ?..lol.

My bear hunting buddy just sold his 2000 TRX350TE for $3,000 on fakebook and bought a new '24 Rancher. 3k for a two-wheel drive Rancher 350 100% stock! That's crazy!!!! If I were you @shadetree I'd relist that primo 450 for $5k plus minimum! You'll get it!

i hear ya bro, but i'm kinda in a bind for some fast cash, soo..i gotta do what i gotta do. otherwise, i'd keep it at 5k all day long.

Brother in law picked up an 05 350 ES and brought it to me.  It's yellow ( @shadetree!), diffs and engine aren't mud stained, but looks like it's been sitting out in the sun.

Had to put a battery on it, old one was so dead it wouldn't even click a tender on when I hooked it up.

Meter was completely toast.  Water intrusion.  I think @AKATV is going to be able to piece one together for me.   Market rate on them now is about $300 since they're discontinued and getting harder and harder to find.   PSN had one for $289 that I started watching on ebay, and it sold in about 24 hours (to someone else, not me).   BIL said he wanted a working meter, so he'll have to cough up the going rate for one.

Other issue is, no spark.   He put a new OEM voltage regulator on it based on that fixing a 450 Foreman he brought me last year.   No dice.   I put a 3rd gen 300 CDI on it yesterday just to see if that might be the problem.  Still no spark.

So the easy "parts swapping" is done.  Looks like I'm going to have to get out the meter and start doing things the hard (proper) way.

With no meter I can't tell if it's throwing any codes, but I did get it into neutral so it will at least spin over now.

Going to check spark plug first, then start on the other ignition components.   I have my kid's running/driving 350 Rancher of the same year, so at least I have extry parts for testing purposes.

haha..that yellow is gonna bite ya on the backside !..lol.

So the little angle thingy is a "plate, starter gear setting" so I couldn't figure out where it would go, looking in the area of the starter gears.   Then I figured it out.   It goes above the flywheel and the "starter gear" that is referenced is the large gear on the crank.

The middle thing I had to pull the "left spacer" back off, and it went between the crankcase and the spacer.

The far right thing was a bushing for the chain sprocket.  There are two, one goes in from either side.

The washer at the bottom I still haven't figured out.  Not sure if it's even from this machine, and can't find anything on the schematics that looks similar.

Waiting on the two JIS screws that hold the center bearing retainer plate for the clutch on now.  Honed the top end yesterday and put the new rings on the piston.

Been swamped with "RLS" as @shadetree calls it, but I gotta get this thing together and back to BASFNB.

welcome to my world of '' RLS '' !!..LOL.

  8. contact dealer where you bought it, DEMAND THEY FIX IT !. if they won't , contact honda headquarters, you can also take it to another dealer. '' ride it t'll it breaks '' won't cover it after the warranty is gone !. you do not need to purchase more warranty !!..waste of cash, plus they will say whatever breaks..is not covered under that plan ?..i'll bank on it. again..DEMAND THEY FIX IT..AND ADVISE THEM ABOUT THE LOW GEAR OIL IN THE REAR DIFF !.

  10. finally got all my hydro lines hooked back up, ran into a snag on the connectors ?, another trip to the kubota dealership, spent some more money..sigh. after getting all those swapped around, found out my bucket was not working right ?, after doing some researching, i had the two lines coming off the feed line backwards ?, swapped those around last night, it was too late to crank the tractor up here ( 10 pm ), waited until today to test it out, everything works correctly now !. my starter helper switches showed up today, installed them on my b2100, and the other on the b1700, now both of them crank very easy now. here is a pic of the starter relay switches, they seem to be working right..now both tractors crank right up.

I think we might instead try to find a 4wd tractor with a FEL.  From what I could find, 2wd’s don’t hold a candle to a 4wd when it comes to FEL tractors.
i just need to find a good, older (simple) 4wd tractor with a FEL at a good price.  That’s not asking much these days is it?  Lol

its not the 4wd part you need ? ( does help though ! ) its a tractor with power steering !. good luck finding a cheap tractor..lol. fakebook has tons of tractors, there was one up in sprindale area for around 10k ?, he even was willing to take some trades, but no atvs.

No i was asking jeep… we have both the 146 and 148 John Deere loaders…. Both will work for his 2640…but the 146 is the one thats recommended for that size tractor…. IF? he only has one set of hydro outlets he would be better off going with the joystick controller… as a matter of fact even he has duel outlets (2 pair) if it were me… I’d still go with the joystick controller but they can be troublesome…. This setup is what he would be looking at…. Tool box doesnt come with it, and thats not a good place to mount it.. no matter if you pick. The 146 or 148 … your view is going to change… and! MAKE SURE YOU GET THAT JACK STANDS…. You do NOT wont ether of those loaders living on that tractor…those models are known for have front end troubles…that block on the front where the axle pivot is ? All cast and all one piece…. And very expensive…. We had to replace from breaks …. And no matter how well you keep those loaders greased they are still going to act like a jackhammer on the front end going over rough ground….. they are not hard to take loose…you’ve run a skid steer …. You know….the deal..lol!

wander how long it will take for this to post lol!

the pic's, like all post you do with pics ?..is tiny !!..lol. these yours ?, or you know where this loader is ?. if its laying in a field ?..jeep needs to jump on it !.

How many sets of hydro outlets does your have1 or 2 sets ?

i don'y follow you ?, if yer talking about the outlets for attachments ?, all i have is for the front loader.

I screwed up when I bought the Deere 2640 without a front end loader, thinking I could add one later.

The tractor was $5K back about 15 years ago.   The same tractor with a FEL was about $7500 at the time.  The FEL by itself is about $3-4K for a worn out one, or $7-8K for a new one.

Live and learn.  Get the implements WITH THE TRACTOR.  Much cheaper to do it that way.

you deff are 100% correct !. when i purchased my b2100 used, it did not have a loader on it ?, did not think much about it back then, fast forward a yr or two ?, yes.i need a loader !. just turned 60, and my back ain't what it used to be. sooo..off to the searching i go, took me about 1-2 months to locate this tractor with the loader. i hated buying another tractor ?!, but the only way to get this LA301 was to buy a tractor with it already on it. no one leaves a loader laying out in the field, not unless the tractor is DOA ?, then its a whole diff story. the story on the b1700, the PO claimed it had low compression on #2 cylinder, and has a ton of blowby ?, well, after some sneaky stuff with the buyer, nothing illegal mind you !..lol. lets just say..he was a pain in the backside ?!...lol. got it home, removed the valve cover, low and behold, very first thing that stuck out like a turd in a punch bowl..was the front rockers were all the way off the front push rods !!!..yep...that will cause low compression alright !. put it all back together, adjusted the rockers, cover back on..it fired right up !. still has blowby ?, but not nearly as much as it had ?. i'm hoping the rings in that front cylinder will loosen up as i run it ?, not good to run a 3 cylinder diesel with a dead cylinder !!!..lol. as for the loader ?, i'm cleaning the brackets all up, painting them, working on the front bumper, and side supports right now.
