i must have missed something ,which one were you going to try and talk down to $600 ?

Look back through its the camo Foreman. I was looking for fuel for injection then a member found this one. Reason was is I was and still am looking for something I could do tire and shock upgrades on. 3,600 is the price. Guy says it needs only the speedometer fixed.

No idea on the newer ones.

The older 420's tended to have a weak 4th gear, crappy rear ends, and the fuel pump/fuel filters can give you fits.

Was just curious. From what I can see the tank looks like it's easier to service being in the spot it is.

Yeah Scramblers have gotten high.  Most snub the 4 cylinders, but the 4 cylinder CJ's usually had 4.10's in the diffs.  Buying a I6 and swapping it in is cheap and easy.  Regearing two diffs isn't.

Here's Dad's 85 Scrambler.  Base model, 258 with T176.  Has a hair under 5K miles on it now.

I know right, I mean used trucks are out of site, that's why I'm looking at ATVs.

That should be a good one.  Only weak spot is 1st gear, and it's usually fine unless the machine has been abused.

Might be able to have the meter fixed, or you could buy a used one for $100 or less.

Still high as !.  I sold my recently rebuilt 08 Foreman with PS for $3K a month or so ago.

I was gonna see if I can get him down 600.00, question do you guys know of any issues with the newer ranchers, cause I like em.

Look for an 08 Foreman TRX500FM. foot shift, without power steering, in camo. They run about $4K.

TRX500FPM is OK too — power steering is one more thing to worry about tho

Found this. Was mainly looking for fuel injection foot shift, but if this one has something IDK about I'd look into it

The top one is likely rusted out.  When you see rocker plates like that they're ALWAYS covering up rust.

The 79, if an automatic, will have a TH400 and quadratrac.  Full time 4wd, and they don't hold up well unless they have been meticulously maintained over the years.  Quadratrac is a chain drive transfer case and the chains are bad about stretching on them.

CJ's aren't hard to work on, but you absolutely do not want to buy one that has rust.  If you can see rust, that means there is a lot that you cannot see.  Look for a faint line of spot welds along the sides right above the rear wheel wells.  If it's smooth, you have covered up rust/bodywork.  Rockers rust out.  Front fenders will rust from the inside out.  Rear frame rails rust out between the rear axle and the back of the Jeep.

I would not recommend a CJ unless you have another good dependable daily driver.  I love my Jeeps, but they aren't fun to daily drive.

The daily driver part is just it. I been trying to look for something. My criteria is not agreeing with what's out there.

No rust, stick shift,  fairly low miles, easy to work on  the jeep is all I could find other than atvs.

oh well for a work atv a foot shift, and SRA,,,,, a good  ondition 300, or 450, 500 is what I'd be looking for people who have 300's aren't up to parting with them, lol, i know you a tad far away, but check the one jeep posted ... and always ... there's shade, no telling how many great builds he's done, a number of them i would have jumped in a sec!!

I'll look into it would you have a link?

i would stay way clear of the ranchers , plus autos not worth the trouble when the auto trans  goes down, one the adds didnt add up to me, i thought you still had that trusty 300, those you can't beat...

I do, I'm not giving it up but I'm looking for comfort and tire options. Still going to keep it just looking for another main work atv.

Looked at that rancher, the yellow Foreman how reliable is the transmission, service, parts availability ECT if I get it depending on my situation?

  10. ^^ I agree I'm gonna wait n see but incase I can get the DMV took care of I found a super duty for 2,500.00 transmission is going out, clutch not far behind don't think I'll do that

Found two jeeps, the black one has 90,000 miles automatic owner says needs restored unknown condition but looks good, the other has 124,000 miles is a good runner.  All depending on the DMV situation.

good to see you back and doing well, can you post pics of the bikes, and a screen shots of the adds, i can't open the links, but that's a problem on my end (most likely)

I can do one of each. 2012 Foreman has 5,970 miles. This virus has hit me hard far as doing anything. I'm gonna wait to see what happens at the beginning of next year money wise before I do anything. I'm not giving up no matter what I gotta do, I'll have a happy life. CJ7 jeep and be like everybody else on the road or help on the farm.

  12. I'm doing good, update, I'm still helping my family and looking for work nobody is hiring, plus waiting on DMV so I can get my license squared away, 1st they said Dec 3rd now they can't take me until February sometime (witch is what there saying now) I was wondering about what to buy for the farm.  There would be to much if I wrote it out so my Facebook links are easier.

Choices are Foreman or Rancher.  I thought about a new rancher but I'm not spending.

wow ... bunch of wire hack on that one ... i can't say much for the paint job ether .. nor the interior, bald tires .. $900 or less IMO, not even close to his asking price of 2 grand .. run away from that one. lol!

I'll ask on the wiring but hey either that or spend another 6 months looking. 😁 Tires I understand. Interior yea it can be spruced up. It's a work truck.

a friend who used deliver for petrolane ...got my pop to convert his chevy k30 one ton over ... popped the hood on his gas truck, and recall seeing that same word ... but i do recall how... the monster gas regulator system right below the air cleaner, he ran that deliivery truck for years... no telling how many miles / high engine rpms it ran while filling a tank.

Diesel right like the 86 I'm looking at? Or another truck, not fimilar with chevys

  15. What's the general opinion on the good ol 6.9? 86 F-250 up the road 30 minutes from me for 2,000.00

Guy chased his tail on a fuel problem. Stupid sending unit hoses in the tank broke off resulting in him replacing everything fuel related but the IP. It's a STRONG truck 150k  4 speed 4x4. Very clean.

fish.... thanks ... i got it wrong .. it's not a 377, it's a 370, 4-v which from my looking is the same block as a 429,  but the 370 had cast iron crank, back years ago the 370 came out in many f- series medium duty trucks ...

I wondered myself on the 370 engine if it was an off brand 460. Open the hood of an 88 F-600 gas truck and 370 Lima on the air cleaner.

I take it you don't work as a financial planner for a living..... like the others mentioned, I wouldn't rely on a stimulus check.🙄

I know the rolled eyes lol but nobody is hiring now. Not for landscaping in my area. I checked. I'll find something eventually but I'm making money on the side doing yard work. Not 8 hours a day but it's something.

PROV please realize folks have financial troubles so please don't criticize. Thank you.

it's just me ... I'd steer clear of this one ... erg doesn't work, and had plans for a delete ... and the power steering is out, but has a new one ?...... like fish mentioned the rear tires set in just a tad further in then the front wheels ... air bags might say this truck has week rear leaf springs from  years of being over loaded, and if you look close .. the gap between the height of the cab, compaired to the bed is off, which make me think the rubber cab supports are in need of replacing...... and why no pics of the engine room.or underside front, and back,  too many red flags IMO

I'm still looking though like I said by the time the Stemulas check and bonus money comes, heck I may build a CJ7 one peace at a time in my driveway.

i was talking about the fuel tank and fill rite pump... but the add mentions nothing about that being sold with the truck, it's just me, but i wouldn't depend on the goverment bail out check.

yea.... scam is what popped into my head ...

I'm still looking got 1,800 and wisely letting my unemployment build up on my card and saving anything I can get money wise. But still being open minded just not 2003 or up open minded.
