  1. I have one of those tachs for tuning purposes and I learned a little about them , the one I got was from the aviation side of things , and there is a slight lag in real time data with that one You got me thinking about that 200SX cart project I got , since I will not going to be using an airbox and I pretty sure the jetting will be thrown off , was it you that posted on HondaATV about tuning with no airbox on a 200SX

Wow , that would be different to hook a otter and reel him in ----- I remember a weird thing that happened to me , was fishing specks with live bait and a cork at a junction in a bayou , cork went under and then a loon came up out the water with the line hooked in his mouth , flew up in the air , I reeled him in and he was pretty mad and mean ---- I never seen the loon dive under water before hooking him so I was surprised , as he must have went under around the edge of the bayou where I could not see and swam to where I was fishing --- hooked many alligators before and caught a few snakes , but never an otter , I have had otters mess up my fishing before
  3. air over hydraulic uses air to operate a pump that produces hydraulic pressure .which fills a tank with a accumulator , the tank will have say 5 gallons of oil under 3,000 psi , the starter is hydraulic , you open the valve to spin the starter , once the engine is run , some units have recharging pumps that drive off the engine to replenish the tank for a restart ---- some units don't have a air pump , hydraulic over hydraulic and there is a hand pump ( like on a Port-a-Power )to charge the tank , it might take 100+ pumps to get enough pressure for a start and wear you out , if it doesn't start then you pump it again , seen a lot of old Detroit Diesels with the hydraulic starters

  7. Yesterday was some good food and 4 wheeling , after having quite a few beverages whilst riding , I was saying , " This is the mostistsis fun I had in a long time " , there was a lot of stupid going on yesterday ----- amazing how dry it has been , many of the ruts and holes are dried up , lucky for us it rained enough recently to keep the dust down , seen bou-cou snakes as they were all around the water holes that are left and I did not bring my gun , I got off the bike and was walking over to one big cottonmouth with the machete and he flared up in the attack mode , cottonmouth don't often back down , needless to say I left him alone and hope he is still in that area today , cause I am going to have my little friend with me today and looking for him I started cooking at 6:00 in the morning , dirty rice , fried chicken tenders , grill hot wings and sausage --- we took off riding at 11:00 and got back at 3:30 and my shoulders are sore this morning , my tank was full and I went on reserve before getting home and we are riding again today with another crew , on the menu today is something really good , charbroiled fresh Louisiana oysters and fried deer backstrap
  8. I remember when I first started working on heavy equipment , it was 1976 and there were still a few machine around from the 50-60s , some of the cranes and dozers had big diesels that started with pony engines instead of starters , basically the ponies were big gas powered starters , you would get them going and then throw a big long lever in to engage the bendix and hope it did not kick back on you , Then there was air starters , and then air over hydraulic starter systems and then all hydraulic starter systems Some of them old diesel engines , started up on gasoline and then you switched them over to diesel after they were running On the old cranes , if the batteries , air or hydraulics was low, you could " Drop the boom " , by engaging the draw works , releasing the boom and let it start coming down thru the draw works , and pop the clutch and spin the engine , made a cool sound
  9. Is that a 200SX tank ? I can't remember if they were steel or plastic ---- if they were steel , then I think I still have a 200SX tank that I had professionally coated by a shop , not the tan colored Cream job , I find that Cream stuff is that that great , the tank I am think of is done in the red coating , then I self-ethic primed and painted the outside , that tank might be a 250 Fourtrax tank
  10. Never noticed what the towel said till you mentioned it , I like that music video / song " Boats and Hoes "
  11. Just saying , some of them tachs , to get the correct rpm reading , they have a switch to change the number of cylinders and /or if it is a two stroke or four stroke engine , are you getting the correct rpms ? I had a lot of fun with the 200SXs I have had , I still have a good running 200SX engine with all the electronic and wiring harness , hope to one day get it in my cart project
