If the Hondamatic has bad bearings are those able to be replaced? late to reply to this, no, there is nothing/no parts that can be replaced in these tranny's, the whole tranny has to be replaced. the was a person who could rebuild these ?, but i do not recall who it was ?. _Wilson_™ 6,567 Posted July 6, 2021 if the OP is looking for a rebuild, I'll see if i can get @Brian Bertram contact information, but i don't which would be the better way to go, new or refresh, i just don't know about those hondamatic trannys seems like i recall a big bearing in a plastic cage, that was one major issue, i believe it's posted here some place ? jeepwm69 7,619 Posted July 6, 2021 Early models had a dinked oil pump design. Apparently the early Hondamatics failed from that, rather than a design flaw in the Hondamatic themselves. Last I heard from Brian he was still rebuilding them, so if I have to have one replaced, I'll be sending it to him.
