Chewy 2 Posted December 22, 2023 I picked up a mid eighties 250 for my grandsons this summer, we took it to WV and had a blast. It needs a lot of work which I'm getting ready to jump into. Not a stranger to wrenching on bikes, I have three old Harley in the garage. I have zero experience on Honda four wheelers. So I will definitely be asking some questions on here. Gonna go through the brakes, rebuild the carb, new coil, plugs, and wires, change fluids, etc. Also, would love to score a factory service manual, but I don't know exactly what I have...lol

jcz 26 Posted December 22, 2023 Welcome Chewy. I know this is a honda atv forum not a harley forum but I'd like to hear a little more about them. Just quick summary if you will. I have a 79 roadster that my Dad bought new when I was a kid.
retro 4,048 Posted December 22, 2023 Welcome Chewy, be sure to replace worn/failed parts with genuine Honda parts. Aftermarket parts (china knockoffs) do not work on Honda's, they're garbage. You can use a genuine Shindy carb kit to freshen up the carb though as they are quality parts by a Japanese company. Looking forward to following your project.
