Hey. My pride and joy is my 2004 Honda Foreman 450s. Bullet proof! Standard apart from super ATV front dics and K and N air filter/dynojet kit. New bear claw XL's. Low hours/miles. Freshened up with Genuine Honda piston and rings, valves ground in with new stem seals as it had sat around for a while before I bought it. Runs like a swiss watch! I love it! I started off in the mid 1980's with a used Honda ATC110. Loved that wee trike to bits. Big gap until 2017 when I aquired an extremely tidy TRX300 4x2. It just didn't have the guts or traction to pull the trailer so sold it and bought the current 450s. These things are THE bestquad ever made. IMO

Welcome aboard!   Those late 450's were awesome bikes.  The selectable 4wd is nice, and adding disc brakes is easy.

Thanks! Yep, bulletproof ATV! Still run drum brake on rear as it works fine. Looking at a lift. So many on the market just now. The highlifter kit looks so cobbled together with little stay clamped onto wishbone to secure shock mount. Could always fabricate new taller mounts and cut off old/weld on new to rear axle and wishbones. The Perfex kit looks tidier at the top of the shock. And now there are cheaper copies of that too! Super ATV used to do a tidy stainless kit but NLA. Decisions decisions....

I'm a big fan of the Perfex.  They reposition the bottom of the rear shocks to be more straight up and down and it gives a much better ride.  Not IRS smooth by any means, but much less harsh that the factory ride.

I have Perfex lifts on all of my Foremans.

Ah, you mean the long travel kit? Doesn't seem to be available anymore. I was looking at the basic lift kit that drops the top shock mount down. I have emailed Perfex and asked if the LTK will be available!

Rear swingarm is the same from 400-450.  The front part just relocates the bottom of the front shock inward.

I have a 450 Foreman Perfex on my 500.   The only difference I could see was the 450 front brackets only had one option to move the bottom of the front shock, where my 500 Perfex lift had two options.

Notice the extra hole on the 500 kit here

I am fairly certain that the 400 kit would fit a 450 with no modifications.

How much is shipping were you to order that to Scotland?

My last name is McClain.   According to the family history I have been told, the family is originally from the Lochbuie side of the Maclaine clan.

Here in the states, a lot of people move the rear shocks on a 400 to the front, and then put 450 shocks on the rear to lift the 400 to the height of a stock 450.

The 450 was just a slightly upgraded 400.

I actually used 400 fenders on my buddy's 04 450 because he liked tan, and while tan was never offered as a 450 color, the 400 and 450 fenders are the same, and they DID make the 400 in tan.

Cool! I think the 500 kit might suit the 450 better on the front mounts. I just found a thread showing the 400 kit on the 450 and had issues with the front mounts. And, it hasn't lifted the 450 level. The second hole might cure that! Thanks for all the info!
