LedFTed 1,145 Posted September 15 you keep rather busy at this. did a great job on mine and the last time i looked, it was still working. i got the electric off at the moment, replacing the wiring harness and such. atv has been out in the weather sitting idle since winter 2016. i had a shop do some work on it, because i couldnt at the time, and they did poor work to say the least. i told them there was a vacuum leak before the carb, i had found, when they picked it up. they were taking it in for something else. the oil filter was put on, with part of the rubber o-ring sticking out at the bottom, hence an oil leak. i told them i want to put SAE10w-30 pennzoil in it, which is the type of oil the book calls for in this wet clutch application, and he said "the clutch would start slipping". and it did, but the clutch adjustment bolt, had the dirt knocked off plus, the bolt had the top of the 6 points, bent/moved a bit where a tool was not used properly. a small washer was missing, on the adjustment screw, at bottom of carb, where it was rebuilt. a copper wire, used for holding the gas tank, was cut, then he took out the two mount screws out anyway, and lost them. there is more, but you get the idea. anyway, i put i piece of black plastic 1mm thick over the screen/ headlight unit, a wool cap,, and last i looked it is still working. i have been thinking of a way to design a cover, to flip or take off, so if you got to leave your machine out in the sun the screen wont get damaged.
AKATV 851 Posted September 15 It’s definitely good to keep them out of the sun but normal use is not an an issue. It’s generally when they get left out of deer camp all year long uncovered in the Texas and Louisiana type heat- it turns the little clear plastic covers into a mini oven and just bakes that LCD. I’ve seen some that literally look like they’ve had a blowtorch taken to them You want to be careful using automotive oils on these wet clutches- if the back of the jug says energy conserving, it means it’s additional additives in there that will make your clutch slip eventually -I think it’s zinc? I usually run 10W40 -AKATV

I have project bikes scattered all over the yard. I usually throw a rag/ seat/ cover over the meters on projects I know are going to sit awhile. I'm starting to see more and more burned 05-11 Foreman and 420 Rancher meters around here. I guess they are at least 13-14 years old now, and if they've sat out since new, they're gonna be burned. Cookiemonfer 0 Posted September 23 I have one that I’m not sure you can fix. The board is burnt is some spots and the screen is broken. Do you work on the boards too? The second picture shows the two little pieces missing from somewhere on the board.
AKATV 851 Posted September 23 Welcome to the forum and thanks for the pictures This circuit board is way too far gone for repair At a minimum the board would have to be replaced LCD is most likely salvageable depending on damages I will send contact info to your message box if you would like to look into a repair -AKATV
Raymond Allbright 0 Posted September 23 Good day, Love the pictures. I have a Honda Foreman Rubicon TE26E, I think it is a 2003. Can mine be repaired?
AKATV 851 Posted September 23 Welcome to the forum What does the circuit? do when it powers up? Does the circuit card seem to power up properly? It is possible to refurbish the display, but it’s best to determine that everything else is working before hand or it gets expensive quickly -AKATV
Raymond Allbright 0 Posted September 23 The lights on the top light up (neutral, oil, and reverse).

AKATV 851 Posted September 23 (edited) Spray a little little WD-40 or some Windex on that front cover. It’ll clear things up temporarily enough to see what’s going on with that LCD if not, it would probably be better to remove that top cover so we can get a look at that LCD and see what you have going on. -AKATV Edited September 23 by AKATV
Badams6289 0 Posted September 25 Hey AKATV, I have a question for you. I have a 2003 Rancher and dropped my glass whenever I was cleaning up the film. Do you have any extras they can be in whatever condition, as the one I have is ruined:(
BigPapaDeuce 0 Posted September 26 Hello AKATV, would you be able to fix this cluster on my 2001 TRX450ES? Let me know what you think, thanks!
AKATV 851 Posted September 26 Hi and Welcome to the forum I can repair your speedometer for you You might want to remove the top cover and make sure that you don’t have any other issues with the circuit card, such as water damage and corrosion I will send my contact information to your message box as well -AKATV
Jmartin74 0 Posted September 26 I have an 04 Honda Forman 450; manual foot shift with thumb button for 2 wheel or 4 wheel option. A tree fell across it a few weeks ago. The wheeler is fine runs great, no plastic damage. The only thing that got messed up was the handlebars were bent and the Speedometer dash cluster wash crushed. (I’m sure most know that Speedo has been discontinued) I’ve been able to find ones for all time 4 wheel but I’m unsure if it will work (I’m fine with mine staying in 4wheel all the time - if that’s the only way to make one of these Speedo’s work on my wheeler. Any suggestions would be appreciated

You might have to wait for a used unit to pop up on ebay or powersportsnation.com if yours isn't repairable.
