  1. Gotcha. I'm no pro with quads, however automotive I am more familiar with. That said When I got my quad I had to bleed the brakes due to the lines being empty. What I noticed is when I followed every way posted on a vid or forum I had a soft/ squishy pump action when I grabbed the lever. Something I notice while bleeding the thousandth time was when I connected a clear hose into my clear bottle with fluid in it.... the fluid would pull back into the system. When it did that the brakes were firm. After about a week or so after they were even more firm. I also noticed the master cylinder had fluid leaking out when the top was secured. I left it just above the site glass and it was still at the same level when I came back to it. Seems like there was air still trapped in there. I tried everything from manually pumping, turning the handle bars left amd right, to a hand held vac bleeder. The only thing that yielded the firm lever was letting the system draw the fluid back into. Bit long winded, but I hope that helps.
  2. Hi all, I wanted to pass along my permanent fix for a leaking gas tank. My tank had a crack and I also notice a few surface rust areas that needed attention. I used Harris Safety-Siv 56 and a map gas torch to fill the wholes I noted in my gas tank. Looks meh, but that is due to me only focusing of fixing the holes and not asetics. This is a permanent fix that a kindergartener can do with provision of course. Just remove the paint and light rust if you can. The paint at the very least has to be burnt off. The brazing/ solder rods have an orange Flux that removes any contamination that would cause an issue with penitration of the rod. Flush the tank with water or cleaner and🙂 skip the tank sealants. However a tank coating would help prevent future rust from coming back internally. I use these items for work, so price is of no concern. However last I checked a pack cost approx $90usd. And that was 2021. I took a few pictures for reference. One showing the flame from my ace/oxy torch set 🔥 🍻
  3. Got some new parts in. Air filter https://www.ebay.com/itm/323831957409 Carb rebuild kit https://www.ebay.com/itm/171366372324 Float and needle https://www.ebay.com/itm/384112723034 A needle made by Proline. This is the one currently in use. https://www.ebay.com/itm/223757945630 #42 Pilot, slow, idle jet https://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/catalogsearch/result/?attr=0&q=N424-21+SERIES+PILOT+JET+%2342 #102 Main jet https://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/catalogsearch/result/?attr=0&q=99101-393+SERIES+STARTER+JET+%23102 I have a tach, hour and engine temp meter on the way. I will post more about it later. https://www.ebay.com/itm/294653596724 The jets are the best thing I have done to this quad yet! Here is the thread I started about the jets.
  4. Ok this is the best thing I have done to this little bike yet! Thank all who have assisted with this project. The engine purrs... sounds more like the little chopper that could lol! Runs like butter. Throttle response is way better. ***Note to anyone who finds this.*** If you try to run this engine without a filter box you will run lean while idle. No way around that unless you apply the choke. The carb will want to pull fuel out of the main jet and you likely will see it spitting out the carb. I tried the new float and needle first. I used the q-tip and metal polish trick to clean the needle seat and bore. Figured may as well get it cleaned up while in there. The air screw adjustment responds well with no spitting out the carb at all. It only chokes the engine when it is "fully seated" in a clockwise manner. Now on to the next line items/ mods here's a peak... if it looks odd. Let's just say it is out of place🙂

  8. Well gents. It's time to start this engine lol! Over the past few days I have received a bit of goodies to rebuild the carb and swap the jets in question. I wont bore with the carb rebuild process, but will answer questions as needed. Parts list will be noted.
  9. Rock on man! My grey outcast has smaller 2.3s off a Mohave. Hits 60mph+ in less then a second. I have raced it on the street a couple times. In an open field it's a ridiculous beast! I'd like to pickup something for street bash days, but with how quick street tires wear I'll keep throwing rooster tails in the dirt lol. Love that thing. I swap to 3.8s and go rich duperbash lol. Gotta love sending these things!
  10. Awesome man! I'll check those out here shortly. Lol rc car shocks! I have a few so I can relate! Haaa
  11. It's all good it shows how great this site is compared to the variants 😁.
  12. Good deal. I may ask to change my build thread tittle after a while. I am thinking of doing the most mods possible and keeping note of any vids available as searching the net for info on this quad is spotty. If I can make it easier to find all the simple bolt-on mods in one thread, then I'd help someone 😁 I may even start a youtube channel.
  13. Posted the wrong slow jet earlier. Here we go Slow Jet http://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/categories/carburetor/keihin-jetting/keihin-pilot-jets/n424-21-series-pilot-jet.html
  14. Well guys I was getting ready to checkout on the jetsrus site and found the only way was through PayPal. 😑 Due to the new PayPal fine/penalty $2500 for speaking against the Dims/ misinformation... I cut my PayPal account off about a month ago. There's an option to not use a PayPal account, but you still send PayPal your card info... That said I am going to make the purchase through Nichecycle.com. Here is the link for the main jet http://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/categories/carburetor/keihin-jetting/keihin-starter-jets/99101-393-series-starter-jet.html Slow Jet http://www.nichecycle.com/ncs/categories/carburetor/keihin-jetting/keihin-pilot-jets/n424-26-series-pilot-jet.html Is there a way to add tags or possibly change the title of this thread to 1987 trx200sx/ fourtrax 200sx carburetor jet upgrade? I would like to help other folks who are in search of this info.
  15. Hi all, I plan to use a 300ex front shock on the rear of my 200sx. That said I don't know if the spring rate is up to par for a 170lb rider?🤔 do you all know of any other shocks front of or rear that would compare length wise and be up to the task? This kinda riding is the most I have planned. All said I am just looking to have a comfy ride when cruising, so maybe the 300ex front shocks will suffice. https://youtube.com/shorts/HIctiw3ADz0?feature=share I'd be buying used so trial and error is ok with me. Thanks
  16. Rock on man! I am glad that I asked about the jet kits. I'll update when I get them all. Thanks! Saved me a headache.
  17. Thank you for your reply. I was really looking at all of those kitchen mentioned on Amazon and eBay. If I had bought those I would have been So L. I will go ahead and look at the jetsrus site And maybe even just give them a call. Thank you
  18. 1987 honda trx 200sx I figured the main jet separates from that barrel with the holes. What I was hoping to find is a jet kit that has 100-110 that has a 102 in it. Not having luck with that. I do plan to pickup a shiny kit, but that has the factory size jets. I am looking to tune this without an air filter box and filter only.
  19. For my 200sx. Looking to find some100-105 jets. Pics of the main and slow jets attached. Any help is appreciated.
  20. I'd love to drive that! Car... 😁🤣
  21. Thanks! It's just a simple rustoleum red. Most of my riding will be around the neighborhood, so I should not have to worry about the paint too much. It will likely never see a mud pit or ruff uncharted terrain.
