  1. Thanks retro! I will stick with the oem plug. I just left the parts store and they can't find the factory plug in the system. I'll search rockauto and see what I can find. Their compressor test adapter thread size is too large as well, so I'll have to wait till I order a new one.
  2. Thinking about it I ordered a plug based off the plug that was installed. So I need to go back and correct that order. I'll rent that comp tester so I can get that money back and have two test results.
  3. The store had a champion in stock, so I got that. I ordered a ngk tho. Any other plug suggestions?
  4. Well that is cheap enough, but the misses has me on a spending limit, which is why I was going to rent one lol. I can wait though. I have time. Plus I still need to donate to the site first.
  5. Ok so I just talked with the guy who I got this from. He says the plug is from another one of his quads. Since I have had this one it does not burn oil. No smoke and the oil on the stick stays in the same place. You guys got me thinking about a comp test just to see what it truly is. Ugh I just left the store 30mins or so ago lol. I got a new plug and one ordered.
  6. Getting a comp test is a great idea. I'll go back out today and rent a tester and post the results.
  7. Nope no comp test yet. I never even thought about it and chalked it up to the fact the last owner couldn't get it running as it was just dumping fuel due to the factory jets. After the jet swap thing runs like top. I see that same thing all over tho. Guy on the local Facebook going through the same thing. Can't get it to stay running. Another on the old forum I linked to the jets thread here same. Factory jetting on these is crap. Lol
  8. Hey guys I am getting a few plugs to test now I have swapped the jets to run a bit more fuel. Here is a pic of the old plug that came with the quad. It's trashed and needs to be replaced. Looks rich and wet. How many steps hotter would you all go?
  9. Yeah us down south folk do not know cold !. If it gets to to 32°F most call in sick and stay home haha.
  10. Yea I though different bearings would do. First I'll see if the newer steering knuckles will fit if not I'll be on the hunt for new bearings.
  11. I loaded pics pointing out the issue with the spindle
  12. The spindle on the old has a step down where the new does not.
  13. I had to download. I'm still in the testing phase as I'm not a computer genuine lol. Was it the file type?
  14. Sound upload test... URecorder_20221224_071059.mp3 Ok this is a 27°F cold start with no choke.
  15. Here's a new short vid by the same folks. Let's go Brandon! https://youtube.com/shorts/eVKQbJh4PVA?feature=share
  16. I thought about the spindle enough I searched. I did find an obvious difference that will lead me to buy the new spindle design. Note the differences between the first and second spindles.
  17. The front brake drums arrived. They do fit, but I notice an area of little concern. I will have to take some measurements to get to figure it out. Plus with the extra offset it may just matter. However it looks like they used larger bearings on the outer. Looks to be about a 1/4 inch or so difference between old and new outer bearings, which is noticed i. The second picture. It also looks like they used 4 bearings. I will take the hubs apart and clean them up, grease the bearings, measure and replace with new ones if need be. I am happy for now.
  18. Here's another go-cart swap for some winter motivation. 🍻 https://youtu.be/g0qCEr6tpic https://youtu.be/dM8di3fTr7M
  19. Thanks for the heads up. You do have a very good point. 22 inch tires will be fine for the rear. I'll just see what I can find that will fit a 12x7 inch wheel. I kinda limited the options when I got the rear wheels. I did not realize that until I searched when I got them. There are a lot of turf tires. If it's going to cut power that bad I'll stick with 22s
  20. Sorry man I dosed off early. Getting old lol. As always thanks for conversation. It seems to be a thing of the past these days.
  21. Yes I have given it some thought. The front suspension is lifted an inch or so. There should not be an issue there. From what I gather I should be able to run 23 inch tires up front. The rear I was thinking 23 inch tires will fit. From my searches there seems to be decent spacing between the rear 22 inch tires and plastics. I think 24 inch tires would be a squeeze.
  22. I was thinking the same thing. Long story short I ended up with a rear sprocket that is one tooth larger then stock. When I bought my chain and sprockets from This ebay false advertisement pro... 😂 So, I have a 43t rear that hopefully will makeup the difference. If not ill give These guys a call and see what they suggest. Since they have the pattern I know they can come up with something that will fit the bill. I still have to figure what size and brand. Looks like I will skip the street tires like I originally planned and go off-road. With that I guess cruising speed is not as important as it was when I considered street tires.
  23. Nice! Great rack you have there. I would hang on to that one as well. I sold the one that was on mine. I have no use for it currently. How large of a tire do you think could fit the rear with the plastics on? I have been thinking 24 inch, but I may just side to a more conservative 23 inch.
