  1. Top of the day to ya!๐Ÿ˜ Yep it is suposed to convert/ cure the rust into a paintable surface, which it did. I painted over it with a rustoleum enamel. This was done inside the car, so I was suprised to see the rust penitrate the paint. I did sand the rust down to metal and left the pitting. Maybe I should of sprayed a primer before the enamel. Idk I am not much of a paint/ bodywork guy.
  2. Not much with this project is set in stone yet. I am open to other ideas. I have used por15 to cure rust on an 72 skylark I had before this. It worked great for 7 years. The rust did eventually start forming through the paint before I sold it. I saw a few coatings in my search. I saw one named redkote maybe that's what fish was talking about. That's a great idea. I'll put this on the list when I get a mixer to redo my fence post. I did fill the tank with water to test for leaks and none were found. I did see a little surface rust in there, so I will get to it.
  3. Rock on man. I will put that on the list. It may be the last thing I get due to pricing but well worth it in my opinion.
  4. Dude you Rock! I have the manual, but not that page of specs. That fits here very nicely! Thanks!
  5. Yeah man, it seems manufactures either hide the details that would deter a knowledgeable buyer or make things so simplistic. I like my electronics with features that need to be thought through. I really want to find a speedo of sorts at some point. I could just use my cell, but something I can hard wire in would be cool.
  6. Awesome! I filled it up last night so I can't get a picture of the bottom at the moment. Here's what I have.
  7. Yep same it's the same one. They do not seem to list the refresh rate in the specs. I will ask the manufacture. Hopefully they will give me the actual rate. When I searched through the avaliable meters on ebay these seemed to be the best bang for the buck. I'm sure if I spent over $100 there were different options. I really like how this little motor runs. My neighbor stopped by and asked when I got a Harley ๐Ÿคฃ. I took him to the garage and he laughed and gave me a high five lol. I'll have to get a vid of it running at some point. I bet you would like how it sounds compared to the ones you had or heard. I will say this... it sounds better then the ones I found in my months of searching you tube. I like it so far. Here are a few pictures.
  8. Rock on man! I do resi and appliances on the side for friends and family. I may pickup a few strays here and there. I started in resi and moved to commercial to gain more knowledge of the trade via different equipment. Ya throw it away has been the way for sometime now. That spans over to vehicles and all consumer goods. Seems like the market is made to keep the little guys out with the $ spread between used and new- repair and buy new leaning towards the ladder. No one really knows how to fix things anymore or even wants to. Just as easy to buy new.
  9. I am sure it is not an issue, but I just would not feel comfy with one installed. Yep I am an HVACR tech. Been one for the past 12 years. Now ah days I stray away from the refrigeration work. Those crazy hours are for the young guys ๐Ÿ˜†. I do it all besides cen chillers and big boilers.
  10. Man I wish I had those for projects! Yep the factory rear tire was 22x11x8. That should be an easy swap Fire lit ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ˜‚
  11. And here us a golf cart swap. https://youtu.be/aUCRrlSPQw4
  12. Here we go. https://youtube.com/shorts/2o92H-Ixjew?feature=share
  13. You tube. Give me a few and I'll find it.
  14. Awe dangit lol. Well there will be more๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  15. Very well could of been me. I slept since lol. Since this forum is the most responsive and friendly I tend to gravitate this way more then others. There is one short vid of a 200sx gocart swap on yt. It's old, but cool to see it looks like they could of done better with gears and tire size.
  16. Yes you are correct. This unit has a list of engine types it works with. Apparently not all 4 stroke 1 cylinder engines fire the same. This is noted in the manual. It states some 4 stroke 1 cylinder engines use the same firing pattern as 4 stroke 2 cylinder engines, so the unit must be programed for the 4 stroke 2 cylinder. I found this to be true as I had to program the unit to the aforementioned setting. I am a gear head by nature and I am willing to be this unit when set to the correct setting is not off by much if any. I had to say sounds due to not having anything to compare. It does lag a few milliseconds, but that's being picky when using a $10 unit lol. When you move forward with that cart project try the jets I posted. I bet you'll want to get another 200sx lol. I do not even need to use the choke or throttle to get it running. ๐Ÿ™‚
  17. Well it wouldn't be a good biker thread if it did not have freaky biker chick's lol
  18. Yes sir this is the original 86-88 steel tank. I am thinking of coating the inside with something. I am not set on what that will be just yet. The first time I filled the tank with Sunco 110 I came back to a garage of fumes the next day lol. I emptied the remaining fuel and looked at the tank and figured the leak had to be at the seams. That prompted me to search for a new tank. Since I could only find new plastic tanks I gave up on it for a while. I just could not bring myself to purchasing a plastic tank to sit on top of an air-cooled engine. Months went by and yesterday I got the notion to look into gas tank repair. Watching you tube I found alot of fails using jb weld and the counterparts. Then I found a few using soft solder rolls like plumbers do and thought About my brazing rods I use for work. It was a no brainer. I got a bit happy and forgot to take before poctures lol. After I cleaned the tank I saw it had a crack in a curved shape of the tank. I am willing to bet most of the 200sx tanks crack in that same spot. I do plan to coat the tank at some point. Do you have any recommendations? That said if anyone needs a steel tank repaired I would be happy to repair it for $30 plus shipping or local pick-up. If you need it smoothed out the price would be approximately $60 plus shiping as that sort of turns into body work like the old days when they used lead filler and a torch. It is a bit more labor.
  19. The new rpm, clock, run time, temp gauge came in. I sorta wish it had an option for a 12 hour clock, but it works. The quad never came with an rpm gauge, so it sounds correct lol. I will open it and wire in a step down transformer of sorts. That will alow it to not depend on batteries and run only when the ignition signal is present. Coming along slowly. I will also insure it is completely water proof for wet/ muddy days๐Ÿ˜ Next I will strip the wiring harness and wire the rear light to my new master cylinder switch. That way the brake light functions when brakes are applied. The neutral and reverse light filaments look solid, but they do not lite up. If the issue is the neutral safety switch I will just make that a thing I do when ever I replace the clutch pack with these. They are noted to be the same for the 200sx. I'll get around to that down the line. Items next on the list in some order once I sort through are wheels, tires, rear shock, rear brake cable, plastics and likely a different rear sproket From iirc that is the company I spoke with some time ago. Customer service and knowledge was great.
