  1. I went and took a few pictures for you guys. The bush is thick in my back 40.

If you look closely in the 2nd pic you can see the harvester in the shade,on the right, he's on lunch break when I took the pic, I know because he owns the machine....lol

Pictures don't show the real amount of wood yet, but I think the guy owns 200 acres behind me, he cut 50 acres 5 years ago.

  2. Finally finished bucking up the last 5 chord of the 20 I had in the spring. I have 15 split and ready for winter, and a chord of cedar for kindling. Made a deal I couldn't refuse and have another 15 chord being delivered in a few weeks, should be good for the next 3 winters. Going to try and have them dry for 2 years before it burn it so I get a cleaner burn and less ashes to clean up.

After messing my knee up last year I need to add some firewood handling tools. I ordered a cant hook/peavy with a detachable log jack.

I want a pickaroon too. Are any of you guys using a pickaroon?

I want to make a simple one. They have a a 2.5lb mattock pick at Walmart for $16.92.  I think I’ll buy one and cut off the digging end and sharpen the pick part. The whole thing weighs 3.6 pounds. With the digging end cut off it shouldn’t be much if any over 2.5. It’s 35” long I think. Looks like it might work?

They have a few DIY picaroons on you tube, they make them with old axe heads.

well,, it aint the fireworks stand that starts fires, its those who lite them. just like bullets, till one is fired, they lay around harmlessly. 😀

Not hot here for the last 3 days, had a fire on to take the chill out of the air, lots of rain, average temps between 12-16C, it was 9C when I got up this morning.

The west coast is getting the heat wave now.

hill is steep enough If I let off the gas its stops her right now.  Hard to judged by the video but with the trailer level full or better I have no chance of making the climb up the hill,

Just to many small rocks that act like marbles when going up and they each take some of your momentum and I end up spining out in 1st gear.  I don't have the power to make the climb in 2nd and there are washout speed bumps at the run up to the hill that I can't get a high speed run at it in say 3rd gear or even 2nd gear Wide open throttle.

I have tried 2nd gear wide open at the bottom and by 1/2 way up I'm down shifting to 1st and then spin out.  and stuck middle of the hill.

This has worked the best or I only load 1/2 to 3/4 of trailer of wood to bring up. if I'm by myself.

I would like to get a Honda Rubicon 500 and find out what it can due for this hill climb with the trailer of wood behind it.  Heck even a Foreman 500 with the Locking front diff as well. For now I have the 450 Foreman and it is a brute just not enough to make this on its own.

When I loaded my trailer with wood this spring, my front tires would almost come off the ground from the weight of the load, I was more concerned with either wearing out my clutch or shearing an axle

16 buckza boxa 50 9's is reasonable. My last buys were $7.49 for Tula steel case at Rural King late June '20.  They don't raise their prices but limit sales.

Now that rumors are a floatin' about the Dems packing the Supreme Court, this shortage is going to last a lot longer.😬

I thought trump packed it before he left kicking and screaming like a child who dropped his ice cream.....
