  1. And the drivers side floor board and frame radius usually goes first too. Snow melt from shoes. I had an old F100 with a piece of ply wood on the floor board. Otherwise, my feet would have busted through the bottom.
  2. A little off the rails. I've never had a problem with old gas getting water in it or gumming up carbs here in South Central AK. Wheelers or small gas. Leave gas in these all winter with no issues. We live close to salt water, with plenty of lakes and rivers but the air is relatively dry even in summer. Not sure why. Our atmospheric pressure is lower than in the lower latitudes. Maybe our gas is different. Lived here since '98. @AKATV what has your experience been?
  3. Oh, this pickup has cancer. Next time I'm under it, I'll take a pic of some of the body gussets that are blown out. We sand the roads here. So during melts, we get a nice slurry of sand, dust, dirt, and slush slung up in the undersides of our vehicles.
  4. No problem. Some of the best threads are off topic. 😆
  5. Started ripping the harness today. Need to pull the manifold agian to get to the back of the engine. I'm getting pretty efficient at that now 😆 Hoping to find it pinched or burnt. The junk yard engine was identical. No ECT sensor. I compared both harnesses and they were identical too and elected to use the original since it looked to be in better shape. Thread at site @bcsman hooked me up with. https://www.f150forum.com/f6/2000-f150-5-4-running-rich-496777/#post6873420
  6. Thanks boys, I posted there today. Already getting some good feedback
  7. Can never get enough fracking Edit: a couple pages back when I saw the fracking post
  8. How much did the kit cost and from where? I've got other problems requiring my wrench time. Will try to get my wife to do it. She has a knack for rebuilding carbs.
  9. No I did not have these problems before. Yes, that is quite possible. Which is one of the reasons I pulled the manifold so I could look behind there at the bell housing mating point where the harness crosses over. I didn't see anything unusual but visibility access was still poor using a mirror. All the codes I'm getting seem to run through that bundle. I need to figure a better way to get eyes on it. From yesterdays run codes below. The EGR problem is new. I went back to the junk yard to get the original manifold and throttle body off the core. Didn't notice that they had bent the EGR valve until I went to install. So I need to go back an get the other one. I'll try to get the harness off that engine too. I used my original harness because it was in better shape. Both harnesses were identical.
  10. Chevy is right. Supposed to pour on the fuel until the engine is warm. This thing doesn't have a coolant temp sensor but rather a Cylinder Head Temp sensor. Put a new one in yesterday and checked wiring. The btch is it's located under the intake manifold so that took all day. After running it, the scanner still faults that among other things. Next, I'm going to do a thorough wiring check from PCM connector to engine components and grounds. I've had it a shop already but they couldn't figure out. In fairness to them, they were confident they could find the problem eventually but I just put it in for evaluation. Its only worth $3500 and I wasn't going pay 20 hours of shop rate on it.
  11. But it's only been 20 years! 😄 Rebuild, good advice. Will put on my to do list. I've seen mentioned around here that a Shindy brand kit is the way to go.
  12. My 01 Ruby does the same @SittyDown
  13. I actually replaced the engine with a junk yard motor. The original is completely seized. Engine runs strong but, it's super rich, have no coolant temp indication, idles high, no speed indication, low oil pressure light. Changed the temp and speed sensors but still the same. Feels like a wiring problem but I can't find it yet. Yeah, this thing is a pain to work on. But I'm a Ford guy. Same reason I have brown eyes and root for the Seahawks. It's genetic. @bcsman thanks for the link. I'll check that out. And thanks to all for the replys.
  14. Anyone know a good forum for Ford F150s? There is one guy in this thread who is helping me but he's all over the place. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1639118-2000-f150-5-4-seized.html#post19730012 Why post here? This rig tows my wheelers and my F350 tows the camp trailer. I need it operational soon!
  15. Yes, she made the mossy oak one also
  16. For break in period, I use cheap oil filters then switch to OEM or K&N
  17. A few years ago, when our three kids were little, I bought 4 old 300 Kingquads in various states of dis-repair. Why wife made some awesome camo covers out of Cordura fabric I bought off ebay. All sorts of camo patterns to be had. People usually make duck blinds out of them. Much more durable material than the stuff on this Moose cover. She is quite the plastic welder too. It was pretty labor intensive making the covers and she hates sewing. I won't ask her to do it again.
  18. @AKATV have you talked to Todd at AK ATV Salvage in ER? He's got piles of wrecked machines in his yard.
  19. Yeah see that crap all the time. "Free shipping if you spend this much" Then pump in the 99XXX zip code and it adds another 20% or so. I used to buy a lot of parts from Cheap Cycle in CA. Got tired of paying their shipping costs so asked them to give me an exception since I've tossed so much money at them. Prooved that it cost the same for them to send things to FL as to AK. They wouldn't give me an exception. I don't buy parts from them anymore.
  20. Top of the forum board is a link to a gdoc with manuals. Maybe you can upload there?
  21. Welcome. Once you get to Alaska, you won't want to go back. Sell your house now. 😆
  22. Has anyone got hands on the newer 420 service manuals yet? I have a 2020 420 also. Latest model I've seen in the library is 2014.
  23. Good job accessing without removing the swing arm. I think any oil resistant sealant will work fine on that wire grommet
