  1. They were wild while the game was playing also. Throwing beer cans and water bottles. I mean that was a terrible call. But that wasnt called for. I watched the second half of that game. Was a close one.
  2. To celebrate our 2000th member on the forums we will be doing a atv contest. Our 2000th member @MaggieBlu will recieve a k&n oil filter from @retro. 3. Sounds like ohiostate at the beginning of the season. Dropping off hard but winning the games by 20+ points lol
  4. Ohiostate pulled one out in a thriller. And coach Day was fired up at the end. It wasnt pretty. But it was gritty. I am very worried about the Penn State game.
  5. Its still could be. But your gunna want to wait for someone else to chime in. There are alot more utility quad guys on here. Someone should be along shortly. But your video and description sounds exactly like when a 400ex does it.
  6. Oh yeah thats nothing like a 400ex. Ours are all internal. No lever on outside or anything.
  7. That im not sure about. Like i said utility quads arent my thing. But on 400ex's we just remove them. They are electric start and its a carry over from when the same motor was in the xr400 dirtbike. Which was kickstart. And if it wasnt electric start i would never suggest removing it. Your kickstart backup will be alot harder to kick if its removed. On the 400ex you remove it from the cam. Press the sprocket hub off the cam and take it all off. You have to seal up the holes where it would get oiled. I always used jb weld and it worked just fine. Then you remove a little plunger and spring that went down into a hole in the cylinder head.
  8. Replace the cam with one that has a new auto decomp mech on it. Or remove it. Is the quad pull start, electric start, or kick start? And no problem bud. Thats why we are all here. Always happy to help.
  9. They arent usually bad. Just overtime get loose. They will make a real random ticking that is usually worse when cold. Gets better when its warmed up. But sometime at complete random will chatter and stop. If it has one mounted on the cam i would bet thats your problem.
  10. Most of the time those mystery topend ticking sounds that come and go are the auto decompression mechanism on the cam. I dont know anything about the utility quads and its possible this engine doesnt have one at all. But that has been my experiance with random noises that come and go.
  11. Yeah think i may need to become a volleyball fan.....lol
  12. Yeah that game was really good! Those boys were chopping wood out there. Playing with a chip on there shoulders no doubt!
  13. Ok first off i just removed the 6 miles of dead space at the end of all your posts. If you could please for my sanity stop doing that. On to your issue. What readings are you talking about? Resistance readings or voltage readings? I have always found testing a cdi box very hit and miss. As all it takes is one capacitor to be bad internally and now you dont get readings anywhere. Aside from destroying the box to get into it to see the leaking caps it is really a change it with a known good one part to test it properly. That has always been my experiance. Also my experiance has always been all aftermarket ones are junk. I have had dynatechs brand new out of box not work at all. Along with almost all other brands cause weird issues. Have alway went back to stock cdi boxes and had no issue anymore. If your 250ex cdi has spark but wont run. Black box has no spark at all. I would have to say get an oem 300ex one and fire that thing up. Logic says its gunna work. The 250ex one probably wont run because the 250ex is a vastly different quad. If it was a 250x not ex that would be different. But a 250ex is essentially a utility quad with sport quad plastics. Built on the platform of the recon250. Were talking shaft drive. Not even chain drive. Im not at all shocked that box wont allow it to actually run. My .02
  14. We cut cable years ago. Use sling tv. And get local channels free over the air. Sling has a sports package that gets all espn and all the conference specific channels. Big 10, big 12, sec. All of them.
  15. Ohiostate showed there is hope they can improve today. Playing against no one. But Coach Day finally let our second option QB throw some balls and get settled in. Not just hand off the ball like last week. He looked better than our starter IMO. Our starter on paper will look good but the reciever adjistments were saving his off the wall throws. Got one more game to get dialed before NotreDame. I still get the feeling i will be drinking heavily that game lol
  16. I dont know for sure as i have never tried to run a quad with a cdi off another type of quad. But the 300ex and 250ex are very different quads. I would imagine there is some difference in the cdi making it not catch and stay running. Have you tried contacting atvgalaxy about the black box having no spark? I really suggest you do. They will probably make it right. I would try to get your money back and get an oem honda 300ex box. When you change so many parts it really makes tracking down the problem very hard. Gotta start with the basics. Spark, fuel, and air(compression). If you have those 3 things and it dont start you then look at timing.
  17. I watched some of the LSU game. Thinking were both in the same boat this year. Ohiostate needs to put in work if they dont want to end up losing a few games this year and being out of playoff contention. Barely squeaking passed Indiana isnt gunna hold up.
  18. Had the exact same thing happen on my 400ex. Got an aftermarket top of the line cdi box. Ran like crap. Would cut out under any sort of load. Put stock oem one on and it would run perfect. After them sending me a second one then a third. All did the same exact thing. I did eventually get a full refund and sent them all back to them. I would ride around the yard with an inline spark tester on my lap and watch it cutting spark. Never again will i try any aftermarket cdi boxes. All they do is up your rev limiter. Which isnt really all that safe for the motor anyway. See if atv galaxy will refund your money. They have always been very easy to work with for the hundreds of things i have purchased from them lol.
  19. Wow thats quite the list. You are 100% sure its spark causing your issue? Have you done a compression test after the rebuild? Did you lap the new valves in? Didnt mention anything about that is why i ask. Im one of the few sport quad guys on here. I will do everything i can to get you dialed bud.
  20. You need to get an easy out. You gotta turn it in reverse to get it out. If you use a normal drill bit it will just tighten it more. The easy outs will screw in but in the direction to remove it. The chances of you being able to drill it out by hand without a drill press is almost zero. You gotta keep it perfectly straight. And if your off by even a tiny bit it will be scrap metal. Not to mention all the brass shavings will be a nightmare to get out of it.
  21. Jets are brass. Very very soft and easy to strip. Your best bet will be a small easy out. Twist it down into the hole and hope for the best. This very rarely ends well. Such a soft material its really really tough to not snap it or split it.
  22. I would make sure they have that spacer on the idler gear in the proper spot. It almost sounds like the starter motor has to spin out enough to catch it. And its supposed to be catching it alot sooner.
  23. No problem man. Im sending you a picture and diagram of the order it all should go.
  24. Starter clutch. Or maybe the starter gears arent grabbing like they are supposed to. Left side of engine from the point of view of sitting on it. Small cover with 4 bolts. Behind that if those gears are in wrong or shims are in wrong it could do that.
  25. Yep they make a special tool. Motion pro makes one. And they also have a cheaper version. You need a thin wall deepwell 18mm socket. Finger tight on the plug wont work. Losing all that compression could honestly be causing your starting issues.
