Fishfiles 20,145 Posted August 11, 2022 I caught a 25 pound red snapper once on light tackle ( 30 pound spinning reel ) , it was like catching a 100 pound tuna , it took an hour to get hi up from 200 feet and I was hurting bad ---- that is a good eating fish Ella Douglas of Thibodaux won the Fish of the Year award for landing a 25.80 Dog Snapper in the Gulf of Mexico.
