Wheeler 2,275 Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) Hey guys/gals. Seeing how I’ve been off work for almost the last month I took it upon myself to step out of my comfort zone. Wood working. I’ve never been good at it. Our kitchen table was embarrassing to be honest, but was solid. When we moved across the country in 2014 we sold our beautiful Pub Style Table & Swivel Chairs. Wife & I regret it sincerely. So I’m attempting to somewhat replicate it. We did decide to go with a darker top. Dark Walnut 2 coats of stain. currently this is where I’m at… 1 coat of Polyurethane waiting to fully dry & sand. Will do two more coats. melamine paint for the chairs over quick light coat of bullseye primer. I must say this is a lot of work that I’ve never been good at…. last pic.. second coat after 320 grit sand. Looks gorgeous!! Wheeler 2,275 Posted February 24, 2022 (edited) Today we got two outta three chairs with 3 coats & the one chair with 1 coat. Table now has 5th coat of polyurethane & last coat was pre sanded with 400g over the previous 320g. The lip around table has been primed & 2 coats of paint. I must say, this was a lot more time consuming than I though.. however I am a perfectionist… so tomorrow I’ll have to touch up the 2 chairs, finish the third, apply 3rd coat to lip around table, & prep & prime the base. Wheeler 2,275 Posted February 26, 2022 Table is all done, just has to cure. Turned out gorgeous! 2 coats of Dark Walnut Stain 5 coats of Semi-Gloss Polyurethane. Sanded with 320 in-between first 3 coats & 400 on the last coat. 3 coats of black Melamine Paint on the Pedestal & chairs.

The list of "Honey do's" will never stop now. You gotta screw stuff up like that. Then they think you're a moron who can't do such things, and they'll leave you to your Hondas.
