When it’s dried abit, Use one of those microfiber cloths to buff. i buffed the airbox cover last night—i bought it used from someone who got OD green overspray in it. Completely removed the overspray and shined the surface. worked on the toolbox light for about two minutes for ya I’ve used Novus on Jeep soft top windows. There are different ones depending on the polish needed. One removed the yellowing and light scratches, and another polished. Looks good!
Goober 1,555 Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) Thanks very much Jeep! if you happen to have an extra rear fender splash guard support (#5), that would complete the entire parts list! Edited April 12, 2020 by Goober
jeepwm69 7,736 Posted April 12, 2020 I’ll check and see what I have. If I have one I’ll toss it in there.

Same color and i ordered it in same width as the real deal— has that little diamond pattern just like the real sticker. the real one has a fade front to back pattern Edited April 12, 2020 by Goober Added picture

jeepwm69 7,736 Posted April 13, 2020 Is this what you need? Been a busy morning. Looks like they’re going to need to soak in penetrating oil a bit before I think I should try to remove them.
Goober 1,555 Posted April 13, 2020 Heck yeah Jeep those are the two bits—the tailight assembly and that piece of spring steel with the hoops. No hurry I sincerely appreciate your sharing them with me.
Goober 1,555 Posted April 19, 2020 (edited) Made chicken wings and burned the oil. So used the oil and my meat probes to test two bad oil temp sensors—actually have 3 bad ones—one is on the quad. Units are KOhms. Results not terrible but mid-range response lags quite a bit; they fall back into spec on the way down. Temp: 77F 212F 338F Spec: 9.5-10.5 0.95-1.05 0.209-0.231 #1: 11.31 1.80 0.258 #2: 11.48 1.78 0.247 Edited April 19, 2020 by Goober
Goober 1,555 Posted April 25, 2020 I put my best oil temp sensor in this rig and ready to see if it still gets too hot. This one turned the fan on above 1.1 KOhm and shut off below 1.0. Still a bit high, but the overheat R value was closest to 231 (236). Looked like maybe I didn’t have one lead well connected—the weather cover had creeped up on the bullet and I didn’t hear it click when it discoed.
retro 4,072 Posted April 25, 2020 Your 350 looks fabulous! You can connect a 200k Ohms, 25 turns trimpot in parallel with your two oil temp sensor leads to provide more than enough adjustability to bring that aging sensor back into spec and beyond. I had a trimpot on my Rancher for a whole season, it worked good allowing me to dial in a lower fan kick on temp. I still have that trimpot... if you'd like to use it on your 350 I can send it to ya. PM me a mailing address and it'll be enroute on Monday.
Goober 1,555 Posted April 25, 2020 Oh man Retro you bet I’d love to use that—I’ll pm ya and I’ll have some return fire on ya too. i temp hardwired a waterproof switch from the accessory circuit to the fan. my friend repaired an old cooler carrier—i got it off a rollover—he got a 5 gal keg of homebrew off me for that one. i can’t wait to get this thing on the trail!

Goober 1,555 Posted May 25, 2020 Jeep I finally got those parts installed yesterday—man they look good! Knocked that thick green film of COVID off the taillight and grommet—i see now i musta got it bunched up in there. A little armor-all will make it seat better. need to paint the spring. I had to used a tubing sleeve to get the drain plug to fit but it will sure keep daubers from nesting in the air box! thanks again please lmk if there’s something you need!
