  1. Hi: The other 2 holes in the hub -- is there enough room to place nuts between the hub and pulley -- if so put bolts or threaded rod into the holes to the nuts -- tighten nuts against hub -- when tight hit the end of the bolts with a hammer then tighten nuts again -- also heat will help

  2. Hi: Unplug the angle sensor -- measure the resistance of the angle sensor it's self -- Black/Red to Green/Yellow should read 1.6 to 2.4 K Ohms -- if that reads okay remove the angle sensor and check the resistance from the Yellow/Blue to the Green/Yellow when turning the center of the sensor with a small screwdriver -- it should read very smoothly from zero to 4 K ohms

Yes Electrolytic capacitors will go bad over time -- just a while back I replaced one in the remote for our electric fire place.  The one in the remote the end was blown out -- easy to spot.

  4. Hi Fish: I looked at the wiring diagram for the 88 -- it is different from the 89 -- 90 -- the wiring on the 2 wire connector on the 88 goes to a different place than the 89 -- 90 -- the guts of the CDI could be different also.

i think you got your ropes mixed up ?, my pull cord is still on the motor, what i am missing is the safety laynard cord, it kills the motor when the operator gets tossed out of the boat.

Hi: The cord maybe missing but the piece that the cord was tied to must be on the motor or the motor doesn't have a kill switch.
