  1. I looked it up the other day and I'm over 500 miles from Little Rock and for me that would have to be a two day trip and a motel stay. Just a little too far. I just got a call from the guy with the TRX250X and he said he just sold it. Bummer. Back to looking again. I've found a couple good deals and I get in touch with them as soon as I can but they're already sold. Well at least I know more about the 250X if another one comes available. I'll get one sooner or later.
  2. Yeah I would have given almost anything to have something like that when I was a kid. My best friend's brother had a mini bike and I would ride it every time I went over there. I loved it. I spend a lot of time with my grandkids all except for the oldest one who's gone off to college. The 15 year old girl loves riding my Rubicon so maybe that keep a few miles off of it. lol
  3. I don't think they'll have any problem pulling the clutch in unless the 11 year old girl's hands aren't big enough. She's a little thing but tough as nails.
  4. I knew they looked like the original tires and figured they were unless they were replaced with the same tires. It looks like whole thing is in good shape. I wish you'd tell my grandkids how lucky they are. LOL My grandkids are good kids but not perfect.
  5. If I had read the other posts again I would have read that you said it wouldn't stall but I didn't. I'm planning on leaving in the morning and the guy said that he wouldn't sell it before I got there. He also had a 2006 Rancher foot shift that looked to be in great condition for $1,600 but he already sold that one before I got in contact with him. I've got a feeling it he doesn't sell this from now until the time that I leave tomorrow morning that I'll bring this one home. I'll let you guys know what happens tomorrow evening.
  6. I found a 2011 TRX250X for sale but I can't go tonight because it's a pretty good distance from me. He says it's in excellent condition and you can't always go by pictures but in the two pictures it does look good. He's wanting $1,900 for it and it may be firm. It does come with the helmet pictured. What do you experts think about this price. If I understand it right this has a clutch and it can't be stalled. Is that correct? Can you take off by just putting it in gear and not using the clutch? I know I'd have to put a throttle limiter on it for my two youngest grandkids. Thanks for any insight or advice. Danny
  7. This looks like a super nice Rubicon in West Virginia for $5,500 with only 68 miles if anybody is interested. It's a DCT and looks like it has power steering also but not for sure. I know a lot of you don't care for ES and DCT but so far my experience has been positive and I love the low range when I'm pulling or even backing up with a trailer. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/962799777574257
  8. I'd rather have a Recon but a 250EX would be a possibility. Heck, I would probably have some fun on one of those. The main thing that I'm looking for is reliability and Honda is the most likely to fill that requirement. I know anything can break down but I just don't feel like working on things very much anymore. I found an 80cc Yamaha the other day which would be good for my youngest grandkids but it wouldn't take long before they would outgrow it. oh400ex, can you put a limiter screw on the 250 ex?
  9. I appreciate the offer but I just checked and Little Rock is over 500 miles from me and my truck is a gas hog (6.2 Super Duty). It does sound tempting though knowing that it would be checked out thoroughly.
  10. Good eye on the brush guards and bent handlebars. I noticed the black on the wheels.
  11. Thanks and I appreciate you being on the lookout for me but I'm pretty sure that one is a scam that I've saw before in a different location. The phone number has a Fort Worth, Texas area code 682. I'm going to try my best to stay within about a four hour (hopefully less) drive but for the right deal I'd drive farther if they would commit to not selling it after I left home. Just out of curiosity what is the Honda dealer that you go to. More than likely it would be too far for me to drive. Thanks again
  12. I'll check some of the dealers and see what they say. I know of at least one shop that sells atvs but don't know anything about them. The worst part about buying from a dealer is the taxes, fees and they usually want top price for their stuff. I actually saw some good deals on craigslist and mainly facebook before I bought my Rubicon but didn't want to spend money on them until I bought something for myself. I'm not a very patient person but I force myself to be when it comes to something like this. It took me several months before I bought my Rubicon and I'm willing to wait for another deal. I'm wanting something in pretty good shape and the main reason for that is if it looks good then it's probably been treated well. I know that's not always true but It's a good place to start and I'll probably be able to tell if the mechanical parts aren't right.
  13. I have but didn't really want to spend that much money. I was wanting to keep it at $2,000 or less but may go more if a good deal comes along.
  14. He also wanted me to show you pictures of his Gator that he wants $800 for. He started it up and it sounded good. The two left tires were down and he said that the right rear axle housing needed welding. You can see in the picture how it sits at an angle.
  15. You're coming up with some wild looking tractors there. I went to my friend's house a little while ago and took some pictures. All four tires are holding air but one of them looked low. All four tires are also dry rotted. The choke is stuck but it started and kept running on the third try and when he cut it off and it started again on the first try. The motor sounded good as far as I can tell. He told me that it was a Freeman loader and that it would pick up about 300 lbs. He has a washer behind the governor rod to hold it in one spot because he said it would run wide open if he didn't and he thought it needed a spring. It didn't register at the time but I think it had an alternator on it instead of a generator. Might be able to see it in the pictures. He said that they guy he got it from told him it wasn't exactly what the sticker said but the tag says FC. Does that mean Farmall C? It doesn't have a 3 point hitch. He said that he wants $800 for it and I can't say for sure but I took that to be firm.
  16. I might not have gotten it but in hindsight I should've tried to get that Arctic Cat and tried trading it for what I want.
  17. That twin Farmall really is a wild looking design. Yeah I was splitting and stacking more firewood. It started raining when I had almost all of it in the barn so I was able to finish up even though I got a little wet. I've got almost seven cords in the barn and almost a cord by my basement door in a small woodshed. I usually use about three cords a year but some of the ash that I put up isn't in the best of condition so I could use more. I can hold about three more cords in the barn (actually a stall) and I hope to have it filled before then end of this year which shouldn't be too hard if I work on it. I'm going to try to get in touch with my friend and take pictures tomorrow if he's home.
  18. I haven't ever saw one of those fire tracs. That would be a good one to have. If memory serves me right this picture is the same as my dad had. The picture that you posted does look like the one that my friend has but I'm not sure about the loader. I'll be busy tomorrow but if I forget remind me and I will go to his house and take pictures.
  19. I bought a 2017 Rubicon not too long ago with only 34 miles and 10 hrs. on it. It wasn't long before my O2 sensor checked out and I got the new A22 part and it's doing fine so far. If I remember correctly it has more resistance than the old part. I bought mine at Partsfish.com and they had the best price that I could find. It took two or three days before they shipped but I didn't have to wait too long to receive it.
  20. My dad's A had the wide front end and it was offset I'm guessing for cultivating. My friend's C has the tricycle front end but other than the front end it looks like the one in your picture. I'll take some pictures of it when I get over his way if I don't forget about it. I don't get over there very often but if you're interested in it I'll make sure I go over there to take some pictures of it for you. He's located in Taylorsville, Ky. The front end loader isn't much. It has a narrow bucket and doesn't have the right hookups for it. It's pretty much rigged but it seems to work. It just has up and down and a manual trip for the bucket.
  21. The Super A tractors that I have saw looked like the A that my dad had which I think was a 40 something model with a wide front end. I'm pretty sure that the Super added hydraulics to it and possibly other things. My friend has a Farmall (Super?) C with hydraulics and a rigged up front end loader. It does have a tricycle front end. I saw him start it about a week ago and it sounded very good. He's wanting $800 for it and I'd say it's worth it but I don't have any need for it.
  22. My dad had a Farmall A when I was growing up but it wasn't a Super A. It didn't have an electric starter and had no 3 point hitch. It did have some sort of a vacuum lift but I don't ever remember it being used. It was pretty easy to start and it never did kick back when starting that I know of. I'm guessing that if the timing had been advanced very much it would have kicked back running the risk of broken bones.
  23. You've got that right. I was surprised that I was able to buy my Rubicon and it was listed for less than an hour before I made contact. I left my phone number and when he didn't contact me back right away I thought I had lost out on it like I did several others. I went that night and let him know that I had cash. I gave him his asking price and $200 on top of that when he gave me title. I would have went after that Arctic Cat if I didn't already have my Rubicon. It wasn't listed for very long and I still might not have gotten it even if I tried.
  24. I appreciate the offer Jay but I doubt if my splitter could handle it on anything that had knots in it. I've split a lot of wood with my old splitter and it's always split everything that I tried with it but if it's very gnarly it makes it hard on it. If I had it to do over again I'd have bought a bigger splitter. I keep saying that I'm going to make a tray for the side of mine to catch the wood but I haven't done it yet. When I'm splitting I'm too busy and when I'm not splitting I don't think about it.
  25. It's sold. That didn't last long.
