  1. I've been splitting some firewood over the last week and putting it in the barn. I thought I'd get through with all I have on the ground but it's raining today. I have enough wood in there for this winter, next winter and part of winter after that. Here's a picture of my tractor and splitter.
  2. Here's a sweet looking 2006 Arctic Cat for $1,750 in Corydon, In. It has 120 hrs. and 608 miles. It also comes with a plow. I don't know anything about Arctic Cat but if this one weren't so big I'd be tempted. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/624703868433867
  3. I did that but it puts the picture where I'm making the post but doesn't transfer it after I submit the reply. It always worked before but I don't know why it isn't now. This is what it does.

  5. I don't guess it really matters and it's too late to edit my post so instead of "I consider" it should say "I don't consider myself a flipper."
  6. I have bought and sold on craigslist also and have mostly done good. I've had a couple people tell me things about what I bought that weren't true but they weren't big ticket items. I consider myself a flipper and mainly sell things that I don't want anymore but I always try to represent them as truthfully as I can. I have bought things that were a lot cheaper than normal but that doesn't happen too often. I bought a Leslie 145 speaker cabinet a couple weeks ago for $55 and I figure it's worth at least 10 times that much if the amp works properly. I bought it as is. I guess I'm not really suspicious of every listing but it pays to be cautious when dealing with somebody that you don't know. There are lots of honest people but also lots of dishonest people. I have a craigslist search setting of 200 miles for ATVs and I went through them awhile ago and on a page of 120 I counted 59 that were scams. I didn't even open them up to look at what they said.
  7. I still check CList just in case. I found a good deal that was for real before I bought my Rubicon but it wasn't what I wanted. I contacted the guy and thought about it pretty hard but then decided that if it wasn't what I wanted then I'd never be satisfied with it. If it's on CList then I'm automatically suspicious.
  8. The Recon is #1 on the list of wants and has been from the start but I'll still consider other brands if I find a good clean one for a good price. I don't think I'll go out of the Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki brands though. I owned a Suzuki PE 400 a long time ago and it was a great machine so if I find an Eiger for cheap I'll consider that. It might take awhile to buy one because I'll be picky and I'm cheap.
  9. I sent a message this morning and I got one back that said pending. Now to find a nice cheap Recon. It is possible but harder to do.
  10. I'm looking on facebook quite a bit too. CL is loaded with scams but it's usually not too hard to pick them out. I looked for a long time before I found mine and it was on facebook. This guy had his number on there and it matched with the area. I sent him a text but he hasn't replied yet. I'll probably pass this one up and wait for a Honda even if I have to pay more.
  11. I'll agree 100% that a Recon is what I want if I could find a clean one for a good price. I have found a couple but they sold before I could get to them. I'd even consider a Rancher even though I think that's more than what they need. Maybe I'll get lucky and this one will sell before I can get to it.
  12. It looks really clean and I'd bet most of the time it was ridden on asphalt and that may be why the tires are worn as much as they are.
  13. I know I might get tarred and feathered for putting this one here but I'll do it anyway and take the risk. First off I'd rather have a Honda but getting one in good condition and a good price is hard to do and I really don't feel like a project. I'm wanting something that is reliable and don't want anything that needs very much work on it. I found a 2006 Kawasaki Bayou 250 that looks to be in very good shape except for the tires and a rip in the seat. The tires look to be original. They're asking $1,000 for it but I should be able to get it for a little less. Do any of you know how good these are or aren't? All opinions are welcome. https://images.craigslist.org/00e0e_8Z7viXb7QLn_0t20CI_1200x900.jpg https://images.craigslist.org/00J0J_2oVGvvKx69S_0t20CI_1200x900.jpg
  14. Here's one for you that would be a deal if it isn't a scam but it probably is. Most of the scams have a gmail contact or an out of state phone number. If it's for real then it would be worth a drive for you. I'd check it out but I'm not wanting anything nearly as big as that. https://lexington.craigslist.org/snw/d/winchester-2011-honda-rincon-680/7197924526.html Edit: Probably best not to check on this because I just saw it advertised on the Indianapolis Craigslist so I'm sure that it is a scam.
  15. Welcome and keep your head down during the storm.
  16. I really haven't kept up with all of the Honda ATVs and really didn't know what most of them were until I started looking for one. I found info on a TRX450R but didn't see anything about the others that you mentioned. I'll have to look them up to see just what they are. He didn't even list what year it was. It was probably too big for what I wanted anyway. I'm wanting something for the grandkids.
  17. Howdy. I'm fairly new here too. Good looking machine you have there. I wouldn't mind having a sport quad but I need mine for doing some work around the place so I thought that a utility would be a better choice. I saw a Honda advertised a couple days ago as a TRX450 for an odd price of $2,2?? with no pictures. It was advertised as low miles, adult owned and in good shape. I don't know all of the Honda models but I was pretty sure that one was a sport quad. I messaged the guy and left my number but never heard back from him. Must've been a good deal because it sold quick.
  18. I bought a new 200X back in 1986 I think. I love the looks of them and both of my sons bring it up from time to time that they'd like to have one. I had a lot of fun with it and even rolled it over a big hill one time. Luckily I was able to get off of it pretty quick. It wasn't a powerhouse but it handled pretty decent and had pretty decent suspension. I hope you get yours running and have a good time with it.
  19. Welcome Michael. Good bunch of people here.
  20. This is the kind that I'm talking about. It's very heavy when green and when it finally did dry it was very light. I had heard that it wasn't much but when my son built a house on the end of my place I cut it down and said what the heck. When it does dry it will burn but it doesn't last long. Sycamore is low on my list of woods but I'll take sycamore over this any day. That is as long as my splitter is working. I choke my stove down quite a bit at night so I'm afraid that they cedar will build up creosote in the chimney and catch on fire. I love it for a campfire though.
  21. Your daughter would love it! Might just be a solenoid on the starter problem.
  22. I accidently posted a couple pics of my 372XP in the introduction thread when I thought I was posting here. I know I had some of my other saws but couldn't find them. I must've lost them when my last computer crashed. I've thought about calling a tree service but haven't ever done it. I'm a natural born procrastinator. I watch craigslist and am always on the lookout for wood. Some people like pretty wood and that's ok but I'll take wood in all shapes and sizes. I won't burn pine or cedar because I'm afraid it might cause a chimney fire. I burned some cottonwood last year and that might be the only wood that I won't waste my time on again.
  23. Thanks 87Iroc. I hope you can get a ride for your daughter too.. I'm planning on buying one for my grandkids and am looking for a nice 2X4 preferably a foot shift model to keep things simple. I don't think they'll be riding anywhere that they'll need a 4X4. I'm thinking Recon because I have a 11 and a 9 year old that will be riding it too. I'll check the one out in your thread.
  24. My tractor is a Ford 2810 and I bought it in 1989 I think. I'll see if I can find some pictures. I have some trees on my property but I like to get it from people cutting down trees out of their yards or wherever. I got some ash from a neighbor a week or so ago. I do have a few dead ash trees that need to come down. I like to save mine for the times if and when I can't find it anyplace else.
