  1. I don't know about Mac but I love the EPS on my Rubicon. I would actually turn it up a little bit if I could. One time I did hit a square rut with one wheel and it quit working and showed a fault. I turned the key off for a little bit and when I restarted it everything was ok.
  2. How do you find them? You get your brother to bushhog the same place again and you watch for the place where he starts swatting hysterically and jumping off of the tractor. That's where they'll be. 😁 It was a few weeks ago that I was trimming around my trailer where some old wood was stacked. I felt my legs start burning and when I looked down yellow jackets were all over my pant legs.. I took off swatting at them then stopped to knock them off of my pants. They just kept on coming. I got stung on the legs. arms and face. I still haven't destroyed their nest. This is the second time in my life that I've been attacked by yellow jackets. The first time I was about 15 years old hunting papaws with my dad. I don't know about ground hornets stinging at night but I can tell you that the hornets that have nests hanging from trees will sting at night if you bother them. Don't ask me how I know.
  3. I have read that there are two versions of the Triton V10. One with three valves per cylinder and one with two. I also read that the two valve is the better of the two and that they only put the two valve in motorhomes because of space issues. I have no idea how accurate what I just said is so take it with a grain of salt. My 460 would tend to run very warm but never hot. It was carbureted and that would cause it to vapor lock on occasion in hot weather but that shouldn't be an issue with the fuel injected models. Good luck with whatever you wind up with.

    Retirement

Hate to see you go because I always enjoyed reading your posts and looking at the pictures that you posted. I guess the bottom line is that your health comes first. I didn't know any thing about your stroke and I hope you get back to 100% soon. I agree with you about the shape our country is in and it's continually getting worse by the hour. I also agree with most all and maybe even all of the things you have said. I hate cancel culture.
  5. I had a 1986 24 Class C with a 460 in it. It was a good engine but like all of them it didn't get very good gas mileage but it had a C6 3 speed auto in it. The only place I had trouble with the power was coming up a huge hill that I think was on the west side of Yellowstone. To be fair I don't think anything less than a strong diesel would pull that hill with any authority. I was under the impression that the V-10 was a good engine. I know that they had some spark plug blowout and seizing issues with some of the early ones but there is a fix and most of them have probably been fixed by now. If I bought one I'd want to make sure it had been fixed or was one of the ones that didn't have the problem. Here's a link where you can get some good information from lots of people that have them. Shortages

I'm just a tech wanna be. I can change parts out but I'm not very good at the diagnosing part of it. Ok, I'm terrible at the diagnosing part of it. Sometimes I get lucky and I'm the blind hog that finds an acorn This is only a guess but it may be bad belts or the drive system needs cleaned up. You might try taking the cover off and cleaning and lubricating all of the moving parts. It wouldn't hurt to clean the controls either.

    Shortages

I have to ask what kind of electronics do you work on? I work on vintage stereo stuff a little bit but I'm not very good at it. Oh, and the shortages. There's a shortage of smart honest politicians.

    Firearms

I guess I should have been more clear. The man on the tv program doing the editorial (the one Archie was watching) at the beginning of that clip was the one that I thought was Sorrell Booke.

I believe that's Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) on TV talking about gun control.
  10. I don't know what the fix would be but mine did it one time when one tire hit a fairly tall rut head on. I shut it down and waited about 20 seconds and restarted it. It fixed it and hasn't done it since.
  11. The dems have been trying very hard to shut this down but so far haven't succeeded. I hope it's allowed to continue and be finished. My only concern is that it's been so long since the election that there has been ample time to change and cover up the fraud. Hopefully the truth will be exposed. I have read that in 2019 during the Ky. governor's election that there was a ballot dump late that day in favor of the dem who supposedly won. He's been trampling on our rights ever since he got in office.
  12. Here's a link to the Intenz bar like I have. If you ever come across one run away. I'm going to go ahead and buy the adjuster screw and I still won't have much money in it. I'm sure glad that my other saws are a lot better than the Poulan. IntenzBarsF_B0601.pdf (oregonproducts.com)

  14. Are you referring to the Oregon bar that adjusts with the bar itself. If so you may be able to get an adjuster that'll fit the side cover that you have now. Not too long ago there were two saws and two trimmers at the end of a driveway that said free. I picked up the saws because they looked to be in good condition. One was a Poulan 3816 and the other was a Homelite XL Little Red. Cheap saws but what the heck because they were free. I put new fuel lines on the Poulan to get it going and it's running pretty good but still needs the carb tweaked some. It has the adjuster in the bar and when I tried it out it threw the chain twice. I got to looking at the clutch cover and I believe I can just buy the adjusting screw with the other parts to make it work. If I get it working well I'll use it for my grubbing saw so I won't mess up my good ones. The Homelite would run but not for long. Probably the fuel lines on that one too. I would have got the trimmers too but couldn't get them in my car trunk and they were gone when I passed back through.
  15. To keep it simple I just mix 3 oz. of oil to 1 gal. of gas and it comes out to a little less than 43-1 ratio. I also always use premium gas.
  16. It's built like a tank and rides like one too. LOL I'm a Honda guy too but those things have gone out of sight pricewise since this time last year. I'll let you all know if the carb clean and valve lash adjustment helps. Might be awhile before I get around to it though. I did ask the guy if he had the original carb and he said no. It probably wound up in the garbage.
  17. He said his son rode it on the family farm so who knows what that really means. He also said that it was a 2002 but after I checked the numbers I found out that it was a 2000. That could have been an honest mistake though. They've probably already ran over a tank of gas through it so I doubt at this time it's the gas but it could be. I got a parts bike with it that he said was running but knocked. He took the engine off and took the outside covers off. I might try and work on it later on. It has a china carb on it and if I can't get this one straightened out I'll swap them out but don't have much hope for that to work.
  18. I did put a new plug in it but didn't seem to make any difference. I put some fuel treatment in it and it seems to have improved a little bit but I'm guessing with it's age that it's had gas left in it for long periods of time and the carb is due for a cleaning. Even if it doesn't need cleaning it won't hurt it. While I'm cleaning the carb I'll adjust the valves if needed and check the cam chain out. I guess if the valve lash is too loose it could cause it to do what it's doing too. It's running good enough for them to ride but it isn't exactly right and that bothers me.
  19. It is a miss at high rpm. It doesn't really run erratic but just kinda flattens the rpm out so that it has to be shifted. It really doesn't affect it very much unless you're running through the gears at full throttle. When I get around to taking it apart I'll check the float level and the main jet for sure.
  20. It was me that was looking for a quad for the grandkids and I bought a 2000 220 Bayou a little while back. The carb probably needs cleaned or adjusted because it has a burble (couldn't think of anything else to describe it) at high rpms. Other than that it seems solid. The grandkids love it but I don't like riding it. It might have been ok if I hadn't been riding my Rubicon first.
  21. I wasn't going to buy it. I just posted it here just in case somebody here might be looking for one.
  22. I've bought quite a few things off of Craigslist and Facebook through the years and have sold a few things. There were a couple times that I felt uncomfortable but nothing that really stood out. Last year in Louisville, Ky. there was a young guy who wanted to go look at a phone that was for sale on craigslist. It was in the bad part of town so his dad decided to go with him. They got ambushed and the dad died of a gunshot wound. I think there have been 9 shootings in just the last two days in Louisville. Last Saturday my granddaughter had a cheerleading competition in Louisville and there were BLM protesters there confronting these young girls shouting to them about their white privilege through bullhorns. Some of them had guns and one person had his finger on the trigger. Some of them supposedly exposed themselves to the little girls. The media didn't report the part about the guns but the pictures were on facebook. I think with the political climate that we have now some people feel emboldened and do as they please and even if they are caught and arrested the charges usually get dropped. 23. It looks like somebody thought the Rancher I posted was a good deal because it's already gone. The town it was located in would be considered a safe location but anything can happen anywhere.
  24. Here's one that looks like it would be worth checking into but I'm sure it's too far away for the OP. It looks like it still has the original tires on it. 2011 Honda Rancher 4x4 420 - atvs, utvs, snowmobiles - by owner -... (craigslist.org)
