If I remember right Pivotworks were bought out by the company that sells All Balls bearings and are junk bearings now. I think @Fishfiles knows the story...

So what brand bearings does one purchase now?

Can these front wheel bearings be purchased from my local bearing place or this more than likely be junk again unless they sell a specific brand?

I learned my lesson about shipping electrical parts ,  and shipping  to Canada at that ------   I would give you one , but don't have a lot of faith that it would work and shipping would be $40 I'd guess same as last time

jeep said , the fan control is built into the cdi  on the late model 350s --- I just looked at the fan module for the 350A+D  , it has a pigtail coming off of it and has no plug connector on the module itself

    10-4 missed his response!

Is that a 2nd or 3rd gen CDI?  I know the 350 Ranchers use the same CDI as the 98-00 300's, and the 350 Rancher units have fan plugs on them.

    Dont think this a CDI?

fan controller  for  a 300 --  it has a different part number than a 450 , and shows as no longer available for the 300 ---- the fan controller for a 450 fits 98-2004 ES or FM /S , sells for $185 and is still available , if they will interchange I don't know ---   guess a melt down / burn out would be the worst that  could happen if you plugged it in and it didn't work

You say meltdown? Lol.. Machine or Controller Unit? Or both?

  7. So I got my hands on this electrical connector that's off a 300 that had a fan, do not know the year - the module looks very similar to the FCU. The reason I grabbed is was because on my 450, the fan controller works intermittently. The oil light would flicker sometimes when I turn the key. If I bake it in the oven for a while it would would fix it it for the time being. The fan still works and would come, just i could tell the controller would act up now and then.

This connector which looks very similar to the fan controller on the 450 but smaller. The two green connection on this are reversed from what the Fan Controller that's on my 450. Can someone enlighten me, will this work on the 450? I do not want to just plug it and in cross my fingers lol.

    2 pin connector labeled:

In my opinion the dampness around the perimeter is normal after what you just described.  The rest looks good as long as you don't have any symptoms of lean burn.

    What is lean burn?

  9. Looked at the chart and can’t determine where I fall. History, plug was pulled out right after the bike was started with choke to pull off the trailer and into the garage ~15feet. 1hour prior to all that I was out riding for a good 2hours+.

Still a bit rich? This is 2 turns out on pilot screw.

yah, no thank you. Well if it’s just the mounts that are off that’s a easy fix. I can weld. I’m almost half tempted to cut mine open again and redo the baffles.. just I’m not expert when it comes to size, spacing etc.

Mufflers are one of those "holy crap" parts when you price new OEM.

Buying used will probably get you a slightly less worn out part.

I think when things get to the point where I have to buy a muffler and a new one is $300-400, I"ll find a cheap tractor muffler and have it welded onto the factory pipe.

A lot of guys use the F04 muffler from Tractor Supply on the old 300's.  I don't like how loud they are, but I'd probably do that before I'd spend $400 on a new one.

Yah I’m trying to go as quiet as possible.

Is it worth your time to lube them? Of course! Have you seen the cost for a new one yet?

No but I can imagine and I've already had the Honda OEM treatment on a few components as I am sure you are aware.

    Another question I have.

Do mufflers from 300/350/400 machines fit the 450? My unit is somewhat gutted due to broken baffles. If I can source a decent unit off another machine I'd consider it as long as it fits. As all my research points to sticking to OEM for the muffler.
