Oh I like Puddles. He has some great covers. His whole "thing" makes them interesting.
  2. If I had the room I'd probably take a sixer per day to have in the evening. As for food, I'd take enough to have two good sized meals a day and try to fish the other meal. A few power bar type things also. I can extend those meals to much longer if I know I needed to.

I've consolidated calibers in the last few years. I have a single stack 9mm (M&P), a double-stack Springfield XD9, and a Taurus Public Defender. My wife has a Bursa Thunder .380. My go to rifle is a Remington 700 .308. I also have a lever action 30-30 that was given to me. A few shotguns round that out.
  4. I like that. The tires are the right size and larger than the ones that are reasonably priced. I'll have to look into building one of those. I'd have to do some studying on it as I don't know right out of the gate, but once the materials are identified I could take it from there.
  5. Yes, the roll of TP and wet wipes are there, good suggestion. The other items are on the list except for mechanics wire, I don't know what that is. When I get my winch, I'll also get either a kit that has two tree huggers or I'll assemble my own. The longer tow strap is a good idea, I have an extra one in my Wrangler that I'll use. Is there a covering I can put on the tow rope so it doesn't have to actually touch the Polaris's?
  6. No no ... *I* was the one with the list that had too much stuff on it. I meant to indicate that I'll have so much on the list I may as well buy a parts ATV. It's how I was when I started to backpack .... huge pack. Over time I narrowed it down and then bought lighter and smaller items. My pack was filled with "Well I MIGHT need this...." things, which is what a large trail kit is.
  7. New user here, wanted to chime in as a fellow hunter. Hunting was one of the reasons I initiated getting my ATV (a month ago). I gave up my spot at a lease a bunch of years ago due to raising a family and this past year I was able to get back on it. I got tired of having someone drive me to a drop-off point so I'd walk, and pout about it of course. Walking in the chilly air got a sweat going with all the clothing and I'd dread going to the stand. A few times I didn't, which is my fault. I was whining about this to the wife and she would rather I spend the money on an ATV than hear me whine, so ta-da! I got an ATV. I'm starting to order the things I "need" for hunting, which really is just a gun holder and a winch. Other useful things like a cargo holder, etc. So ... Hello!
  8. I plan on going pretty far, for up to a week. And yes, for shorter trips, less things. No need to pack an entire spare ATV. I'm curious on the sizes of the sockets and wrenches as if I don't take the common ones, that's what I'll need the most.
  9. 2021 Rancher FE1 I'm looking to put together my trail kit, as well as making sure I have in my shop what I need to work on my ATV. I've used the search feature here but I'm not smart enough to limit things to get what I'm looking for. - List of socket & wrench sizes to take on the trail. - List of the same to work on things in my shop. So far I've heard that 8,10,12,14,17 & 19 mm will get you most anything "typical" on the trail. Is that true? Normal depth socket or deepwell? What is the sparkplug size?
  10. Thanks for changing the name, I appreciate it. I did contribute through the donate button, I was asking about the forum during chat and @bcsman explained a few things so I went and did that. Being fully member funded is risky, but if you can keep it going it really makes it nice. I appreciate the work to give us all a nice place to hang out and exchange ATV stuff.
  11. I'll do just that. I figure it's snowmobile and other track vehicle time now, but I'm spending the Winter getting ready. Thanks.
  12. Speaking of sucking up, I've been looking at Michigan (I'm in Ohio) for places to go ride and camp and it seems plentiful. So much that the options are almost overwhelming. I don't see any sub-forums here that deal with locations, dispersed camping, etc. Am I missing them?
  13. Hey I'm trying to suck-up and get my alias changed, if you don't mind!
  14. Thanks for the help on how to contact the admins. As it turned out, one of the admins was who suggested I change it, so I have a direct line to upper management!
  15. GO! Have at it! Tear it up! Then report back!
  16. With my stock tires, the 2" of snow may be all I can handle!
  17. I would think there would be a few. I went with that option over the 500 to hopefully get better fuel usage on long trips.
  18. Thanks! Not sure how to change the alias. I'll take a suggestion if you have it.
  19. I'm a brand new owner, though not a new rider. I actually joined in 2013 in search of a manual for someone I was helping. So ... today I bought a new Rancher 420 ES. I picked it up a few weeks ago. I will use it for hunting (cabin -> treestand and back) and for camping. I'm currently on the lookout for allowed trails to get to water sources to camp, fish, etc. I look forward to learning more about my new purchase, how to properly maintain it, identify and purchase "necessary items" and then over-spend on cool things. Hello!
