Cutting A Bit Of Plastic - What To Use?
WonderMonkey replied to WonderMonkey's topic in General Chat
Hmm, maybe I'll go get one. Once I have it, I may find other uses for it suddenly. Thanks for the input and the photos. That certainly is an odd looking atv you have there! -
Cutting A Bit Of Plastic - What To Use?
WonderMonkey replied to WonderMonkey's topic in General Chat
I have a cabinet above my fridge in the garage. On top of the fridge I have things stacked, paper towels, etc. Three weeks ago I was clearing some things out and looked in the cabinet. In there was a circular saw, jigsaw and a router that I've been missing for several years. So .... it appears as if I can't trust myself to find things I own, but don't use regularly. But I may buy a dremel. -

I will certainly check. However, even if it does, I'm not going as far away from people as I will without it. But I'll check. Good idea. -
My mic broke, can't.

What did you do with your atv today?
WonderMonkey replied to dearchristopher's topic in General Chat
Today I started the install of my winch. I was able to get the winch attached to the front bumper and it reattached back to the frame. Though I did pay a bit of blood-homage to the God of Mechanics, and will have to Dremel a bit to get the plastics to fit right, it went ok. Tomorrow I'll lay out the wiring to make sure it will all go where it's supposed to go. I may not get it done as I have to pack for a trip this weekend, but we shall see. So, today I got my atv back together after taking it a little apart. -

Well actually no, I generally just go get it. I was playing a bit. Still, I'm going to borrow this one as it's the first time I can recall ever needing one. -

@toodeep if I used tin snips how could I justify going out and buying a Dremel? THINK, MAN! Just kidding, I'm going to borrow my brother-in-law's. Makes him useful. -
I started to install a winch on my ATV today. The directions said I may need to cut some of my plastics and I was hoping I wouldn't, but alas .... It's not going to be much, would you use a dremel for this? In the below photo, the plastic isn't back where it is supposed to be as the winch is in the way. A notch will put it in place. The post will be exposed but I'll but some dielectric grease on it and tape it up real well.

Well not so much as funny but it did make me sit here and think that through for a moment. I was trying to imagine no floor but yet you use a floor jack. Kind of like some riddle that made me fail a test.

I don't think I've ever looked at one of those. I'll look them up.

I'll bet that the first time you lifted one up it was real nice! HUGE difference in being able to stand or sit in a chair and do things.

That's kind of what I was thinking for my strategy, except I was going to use a 4x4 as a cross beam. Then I was thinking that sounded a bit shaky so I'm back to exactly what you said.

I cooler age mine. I can't hang mine for long for the same reasons as yourself. I read about cooler aging about three years ago and started to do that. I field dress immediately then hang it at camp. As soon as the temperature gets non-ideal, I butcher it and put it in a large cooler I have. I keep ice on it for about two weeks then get what I want processes. However .... paying $150 to get it all done is also hard to resist!
-
I butcher, but don't process anything like sausage, jerky, etc. I have someone else do that.

You are welcome.

How to properly prep your Honda ES shift system
WonderMonkey replied to retro's topic in Electronics
Thanks! I appreciate the answer and the tip on how much to use. I'll use the Ultra Black to be extra sure on the submersion or the pressure washer. I don't HOPE to be submerged, but you never know. I did go get some of the items already. I had exact brand and title of the items I needed and of course, they didn't have some of them but had alternates. Luckily, at the next place I was able to complete my item list.
