jeepwm69 7,744 Posted April 1 I paint mine black but only because I duck hunt sitting on mine and don't want to flare the birds.
bigcountry78 104 Posted April 1 Yes, I’m a glutton for punishment lol. I think silver paint will be the best, easiest way. I was just entertaining the idea of black wheels. I really wish I could sell the mud lites and put that money towards something else, but I can’t sell them in good faith knowing they don’t hold air well. Thats too bad cause he sure knows carbs and loves those old school tanks plus hes a crackerjack at hondaline accessies .... i might not be too far behind him... (red plastic) yeah same reason i didnt go with red, but if it was a green bike I would shoot them to match.

This has been on the back burner for a bit, had my gas sipper break down on me and the truck has to have tires to pass this year’s inspection so I’ve been dealing with those issues….. might start a tire thread for the truck lol. The good news is my effort seems to have paid off, the Bridgestones have been leak free as far as I can tell, and look great in my opinion.

I put a new radiator in it and then immediately after it started blowing motor oil from where the transmission and motor bolt together. It’s front wheel drive, so it’s mounted sideways. I can see where oil is pooled up but not sure where it’s coming from. Maybe a sensor is leaking.
bigcountry78 104 Posted April 30 Out of curiosity, what is a common 12” rear tire size? Thinking about selling the mud lites and 11” rear rims, but looking to the future for replacement tires, what would be a common tire size? 24x10-12 to match the 24x8-12 fronts? I’ll probably just stay with 25’s from now on, but just curious.

So what you’re saying is, with 12” rims and the 24x10-12 size being common, there’s no real reason to hang on to the 11” rims?
jeepwm69 7,744 Posted April 30 Correct. I put 12's on all my machines. Much easier to find tire options for a 12" wheel, and again, you need 12's to clear disc brakes on the front. I wouldn't toss the 11's though. You might find some cheap/free tires for an 11" wheel at some point and need the wheels, and they won't bring anything trying to sell them. They won’t cost me anything stacked up in the corner of the shop I guess.

So I took part of your advice, I’m selling the tires and keeping the rims. Spent more time with the tire irons yesterday knocking the rear tires off the rims. Gonna put that cash towards, I don’t know tools, gun parts, something. Truck needs a battery and wipers, and a door lock fixed too. There’s always something to fix. I think I’m gonna break down the two front Titan 589’s too, keep those rims and toss the tires. That way I’ll have a full set of spare rims if I ever fine the deal of the century on another set of tires. And then I’m gonna throw the tire tools in the creek out back.
