Buckchop 89 Posted April 20, 2020 Well got the buggy about done, just need to bleed brakes, paint firewall and make seat pads. Ended up startin on another project a MCI tour bus into a motorcoach/rv for me and the wife, but got pulled off it cause the roof gave out on the hanger and squashed 4 out of the 6 cars and 1 of the planes. Been sick about it for 2days, even cried a bit, well mayb more than a bit, just finished up rebuilding the 1947 pa12/160hp for my dad this last summer, he got about 5hrs flyin on it and here i get to go again. Buckchop 89 Posted April 20, 2020 Snow acumulation and warm temps didnt help any. A beam in the roof that dad had welded together to span the 30’ run broke at the weld, was a dirty no penetration weld and the fishplate for seam wasnt big enough for sure, Hanger had been up for 2yrs and this first winter we put plane under it, ive always swept them off thro winter, when i called dad in Louisianna to tell him the news he was sure bumbed out about it im sure he was looking forward to flyin it this summer.

Buckchop 89 Posted May 24, 2020 Well took the weekend off at the mine to enjoy some time with the wife, both kids and the daughter b/f. We been shootin, 4wheeling, campfire, ect. Buckchop 89 Posted May 28, 2020 Well test ride went, ran good enough that i know carb needs little work, its been sittin longtime and some water/crude in it when first got it running and there was a cracked diaphram or something ill have to tear it apart and look again. Master cyl i used was used and its no good so had no brakes, and it upshifts but dont down ! the linkage is not going to work so total redesign of that. Think ill do a equipment style push/pull cable. Turn sharp, climbs awesome, but low ground clearance and u have to watch driving over dirt mounds but when u get hung up on one u just get out push it over the mound and drive off. The full belly pan/skid pan works good and nice that buggy still light that one guy can man handle it.

retro 4,048 Posted June 1, 2020 I had an RM 250 too. I sold it right after my daughter was born cause if I kept it I figured I'd end up dead and my daughter would have to grow up without her dad. That was 30 years ago... I have a too-short-for-an-mx'er inseam too. 🙂
