  1. Wilson, I was pretty close to your place a couple years ago. My daughter and her husband lived about 3 blocks east of Spring Hill Mall. We went to see them for a week.
  2. Nope. Like concrete when dry, can't hardly stand up in it when wet. When it's starting to dry out and gets sticky is when it's really bad. All finely pulverized rock from the glaciers.

We had more nice rain all through the night. Made a big difference here. I hope all you guys down south can get through it safely and with minimal damage.
  4. We have alot of that blue clay in my hunting shack area. Some places they drilled it is 150 thick, 95 feet right at my camp. Stuff will stain your tires. Sometimes it's so sticky it will load the tires up to the fender. Then all you can do is dig it out with a stick.
  5. Pretty cute kid. Did that to my kids more than a few times.
  6. Installed a new Kolpin gun scabbard. Got a bigger one to accommodate my scoped rifles. Has a removable liner so I can dry it out easier.

Yeah, it's been raining off and on all day and maybe more tonight. They have still been able to hold the fire from growing and went from 0% containment to 14% last I heard. I think it's enough to keep my hunting area from having a fire.

I'm hoping. We are about 40 miles NE of the front.

We have gotten a few days of light rain now which helps. Last 24hrs they kept the fire from growing.

Very much so. Last one this dry was 1976. Getting a little rain now but not nearly enough. And no... you are not an imbecile. I will also refrain from calling others on this forum names. Even the crazy conspiracy theorists.......🔥😁👽☠️☢️

Last night our forest fire had jumped up 4,000 acres. Now 26,000 acres total. They now figure it will be a constant battle until snowfall.

    New Windscreen.

I have a Kolpin handlebar mount mirror and it works fine. Also has a quick release so you can remove it easily. Haven't had any vibration issues.

Other than a couple short rain storms here it is very dry. Finally we are starting to get rain now and it's supposed to rain off and on for several days. We have a forest fire NE of us that was at 22,000 acres last night. Trees were exploding from the intense heat. Hopefully we get enough rain so they can get it under control. My little dog liked sitting in a bomber.

    New Windscreen.

I have learned that I prefer a windscreen you can see over the top of. Had a higher one before but you can't see through rain drops, frost or mud/dirt well at all. Mine still sends the wind just over your head. This along with heated grips makes for comfortable riding in cold weather. If it's warmer than about 70F I take it off or I get too warm.
  15. Hey WonderMonkey, I just saw you changed your avatar to your picture. Pretty brave. If you're not missing teeth, have a mark on your head from the toilet seat falling while getting a drink or using that necktie to drag out a deer......I'm not sure they will allow you to continue using this site. 😁

90's here and finally a chance of rain tonight through Friday. I sure hope we get it. Lots of wildfires up this way. One was at 3000 acres and growing last night.
  17. Shoot the beaver and adjust the dam to your preferred height!😁 Up here if we need to eradicate we try to trap but there's way too many. Best thing for us is to blow the dams after freeze up then they are froze out of their homes. Good luck.
  18. Good to know. Zillas are lighter.
  19. Those Executioners are very similar to my Zillas. In my hunting and riding country sometime during your day they make all the difference.

Appears to have been straightline or Derrecho(sp?) winds. I watched while my wife was in the basement. 70mph gusts, rain sideways. I seen some dandies but my trees were all bending at 45 degrees. Surprised I didn't lose more. I live a mile outside of our small town (pop. 9000). I cut up all the oak and maple for firewood. They had 2 yards set up on each end of town to bring woody debris. The one by me was easily a city block by 12' high. Luckily I have a couple acres and skidded all my trees to my brushpile.... with an ES RUBICON!😁

Didn't hear of anyone getting hurt in spite of trees going through houses and vehicles crushed.

Other than a short bad storm 2 weeks ago we are badly in need of rain. Broke treetops off and threw them 30' on top of my garage putting 3 holes in it. New roof time. We are over a 5" rain deficit. Lost 9 big trees.
  23. You guys knock down ES all you want. I just gotta say I really enjoy riding and working them alot more than working ON them. All I've had to do was rear axle bearings and seals on the Rancher and replace a torn boot on the Ruby. Hence the lack of help from me on the repair issues. But you guys go ahead and get greasy, hot and spend money on them while the wind is blowing through what hair I have left.😄
  24. I might as well pile wood on the fire. Had a 2004 Rancher ES for 10 years and 6000 miles. No problems. Have a 2015 Rubicon FA7 with 3300 miles.....no problems. Maybe I'm just really lucky but I sure don't baby it. Run in temps from -25F to 90+F. Hope my luck holds out.
  25. Just remember...if you hold it in you get bad breath! 😲
