eh, me thinks it would be faster ( just broker..lol ) to just put new oem back on them..lol. if it was mine ?, i would have bought new oem, but its not, and we both know cat fish wasn't gonna spend 250+ to put new back on it !!!..lol.

i'm on the home stretch, i see light at the end of the tunnel !..lol. i took two pieces of pure junk ( again ! ), and made a half way decent trx300fw out of them, it's not one of my better project builds ?, seeing how all i had was junk to pick from for parts ?!, and yet..still made a good atv out of this junk !!. i'm pretty sure the new owner will be happy with it..after all..it is a trx300fw !!! :-).

if he was smart ?, he'd take jeep up on his offer, then drive by my house, and pick up the front fender...lol.

just posted on the build thread of what i installed, i cut that rubber with scissors !..lol, its about 3/16 thick ?.

just came in from working most of the night on this project, taking a break. got the rear fender installed, battery, cables all hooked up, home made fender flares installed on rear fender , rear rack bolted on ( did not paint it, stupid wally world paint decided to act stupid ! ), called it a night, morning..lol. i need to get the handle bar grips from my local dealership today. spoke with fish yesterday, he's gonna send me some front fender stays for the front fender. i've got to fix a front rack up, so i can get it mounted later, but for now, i will work on getting the front fender '' some what '' mounted, get the front grill, lights installed, and working. then i can make some front fender flares like i did for the rear fender, for 250 bucks on oem new ?, i think they will work just great for who ever gets this atv !. i'll post some pics later on, too tired right now.

thats NOT your normal socket !!!!..rofl. you know dang well what i meant by sockets...yes..i could get my hands on a tool just like the one in this pic ^^^, but i wont waste my time, gas..driving back and forth out to cat fishes place to get it, use it, then have to lug it back..when i can reach for my pipe wrench, and get-r-done !..lol.

your right, this project is no where on my list of '' doing it top notch '' right !!!..lol. i made some home made splash guards tonight ( last night ), installed them on the rear, did not take pics, just came in a few mins ago..taking a break..lol.

never tried it, and wont try it..lol. i'd rather take my chances doing it the way i've done it for years.

sockets wont work, you need a large pipe wrench.

update: got front diff all taken care of, new seals, painted, installed back in frame, did a little touch up painting, got front rims painted. got my oil seals in today, all back in motor, added oil, hooked battery up, put some fuel to carb, choked it, pushed start button, fired right up, sounded great, no noise now !!!.

all you need is a large pipe wrench. and a long pry bar stuck in between the hub studs to keep the axle from turning.

i still have those case parts out in my shop, do i need to go grab a pic..so you can see that there is no baffle in them ?.

its a clymer manual..what ya expect ?..lol. there is no baffle in the trx300 motors, i've split a ton of these motors, and that baffle is NOT in there !..lol.

no gears on trx300's are serviceable( or any honda crank that i know of ? ) , cept the big gear next to the crank bearing. the cam chain gear, and the oil pump gear are made unto the crank, they can not be replaced. nothing next to the crank case breather tube that i've ever seen ?. tube is pressed into the case.

what ?, i can buy brand new fender flares,oem from partzilla cheaper than what he's selling them for..he nutz ??..lol. all 4 for the price he's asking for 2 !..lol.

simple then: when the lock nut does not move, and the bolt does ?, just put it right back in the way it was, no need to mess with the lock nut !.

any chance any member ( look's towards fish or jeep ) happens to have some decent front and rear fender flares for this '97 trx300fw i am working on ?. if ya do ?, holler at me !. p.s. dont care about scratches ?, but i dont want any that are busted/holes !..lol.

lol, i've never, not onced used that spec tool for the lock nut , i always just pay attention to where its at when i bust the bolt loose ?, make sure its about in same spot when i tighten the bolt down, done !.
